I absolutely loved this small Museum; what a treasure it is. The staff members are extremely well trained and make everyone feel so welcome. The history is fascinating and I was pleasantly surprised at this collection. The lady who started this had a great idea! I would highly recommend this museum of the history of handbags. I thought I knew... More

It was unexpected to find this museum in Amsterdam. At first the idea of seeing this seemed a bit odd as there is so much competing for attention. So, we put it after going to the Heineken Experience. This was a surprisingly well-curated museum. It was fascinating to see the history of the bags and museums displayed so well. The... More

We came upon this canal side museum walking back to our hotel one afternoon. We spent a couple of fascinating hours learning about the origins and development of purses and handbags over the last few hundred years. It has beautifully presented displays, extremely helpful staff and a great tea room serving delicious coffee and cakes. The museum is on four... More

What was not to like. There were handbags going back aeons and very interesting all the text about them. Everything was well lit and there didn't seem to be a problem seeing everything even with a busy time of day. The coffee shop overlooked the garden and there was a superb room for high tea which we didn't try but... More

I stumbled on the gem by accident, so I imagine it could be quite difficult to find. On entry I found the staff very friendly and helpful. To ensure you view the earliest handbags first you must start on the top floor. There are folding chairs to sit on when watching the videos. There is such an array of handbags... More

This is a real must-see. It has the history of bags and purses, with examples from the 16th Century all the way through to modern ones, including a range of designer and a few celebrity handbags as examples. There are many quirky handbags too! They are beautifully arranged, with photos and props to support the bags, and the history and... More
