This museum was included on our Museum Pass and, as we were in the area, we decided to drop in. Not a "bad" museum -- but interesting. The building is beautiful, and they do offer high tea in the afternoon for 38.50 Euros per person.

And I thought the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto was my favorite specialty museum--who knew there was a similar such place for just bags and purses?? Dating from the 16th century, this outstanding collection of bags and purses is attractively (and chronologically) arranged to get real sense of the history behind everything. Although my husband found a comfy chair to... More

When on city breaks my itinerary usually comprises of art galleries, old cemeteries, transport museums, historic buildings such as castles and the like. When my partner announced that one of our attractions to visit in Amsterdam was the ‘Museum of bags and purses’ I was very reluctant. So much so I even suggested she goes on her own and I’ll... As a woman I recommend it when you are alone (not with your man!) to go there and enjoy from a very feminine place... This might be, however, of men's interest as well but less probably. It is a pretty small 3 floor museum which take you about 1 hour to visit...there are many old as well as fashion bags... More

A museum dedicated to just bags and purses! Who knew??? This is a quick excursion; wandering around the entire museum takes less than 30-45 minutes. The gift shop is exquisite and I had to buy something. Just because. This is a really fun experience. Really, really beautiful and very much fun. MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Took my mom here, who really loves purses, and we really enjoyed it. The museum is very nice, the pieces are explained well. There was a great variety! The cafe at the end was very cute, wish we could have eaten there but we did buy some chocolates to take with us.
