impeccable beer with lots of flavor which was not very expensive. When we arrived, they had stopped serving the taste boards with small glasses. Therefore, we ended up tasting almost every beer in the bigger glasses which was a good experience. We sat at one of the benches outside, and the vibe was great with a lot of people.

Wonderful little place to stop by during the day and sample some of the nicest beers in Amsterdam ! A popular spot for young locals, absolutely worth taking a couple of hours off your day to explore the local beers on tap, for much cheaper than anywhere else in Amsterdam !

It's simply a delightful place to come and spend a couple of hour and happily drink away. Very relaxed atmosphere and obviously the windmill adds to the spectacle. Definitely a good half measure if you don't have time to visit the Zaanse Schans.

Stopped in for a couple of the flights because my wife wanted to see a windmill while were were here. Absolutely loved this place and I wish I could get it sent to me in the US.

well it is. Sat under a windmill, by the side of a canal with a bicycle parking area nearby too. Beers brewed on site too. You can get a plank of beer to so you get to taste 5 different beers.

Fantastic beer selection and some very good local beers. Little bit far away from the center but without a question place worth to visit for beer lovers. Their IPA is especially good. On saturday afternoon the place was very crowded by locals so this is not a turist trap. Extra points also must be awarded for the fact that this... More

having visited this on many occasions it is an outstanding place to enjoy a real Amsterdam beer in this great local windmill. Something not to be missed whenever you are in Amsterdam. Just a short bike ride from the center of town. They also do tours upon request. You Will love it.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
