What a wonderful local pub! Everyone is friendly and the beer menu is out of this world. Be ready to chat with your neighbor as you relax with your favorite beer or one you're trying for the first time. I had an incredible beer that was aged in scotch barrels. Unfortunately it's not something I'll likely see outside the Netherlands.... More

We spent a very happy afternoon in this bar, with excellent service and excellent beer. The bar staff were really knowledgeable and helpful and gave really fantastic beer recommendations. There was a huge choice of draft and bottled beer from around the world, with an excellent selection of Dutch beers. The lovely barman introduced us to our first Italian beer... More

After looking for this bar for about an hour we were about to give up when I looked down a small side street and there it was. It was a cold day so when we entered it was nice to be greeted by a warm welcome and cosy bar. There are so many beers to choose from, my wife who... More

Certainly, one of the top two beer bars in Amsterdam though unlike its rival, it serves mainly Belgium beers but does have a good representation of Dutch craft beer as well. Also, English and American beers usually too. Great old bar with a superb atmosphere. Many locals visit too which is a good sign.

Went here on both days and had some great beer (loved the Flying dog Wildeman IPA) Really cosy old bar with a good mix of tourists and friendly locals. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the beers on offer of which there are a very good selection. If you like your beer you have to come here.

Lovely selection of beers, cozy and very pleasant. Not as much selection or as interesting as arendnest but still very pleasant. Table service is something we're not used to at home (getting served in a bar in Ireland is a privilege apparently) so that's always a treat

This was our first bar that we visited and it started off our weekend very lovely. Huge choice of beers that can get anyone confused! 2 ladies at the bar knew "their stuff" very well and suggested a beer following of what we said we like more or less. Beer we tried was very lovely and good thing is that... More

Well.. while wandering streets of Amsterdam for a pub - I found this jewel. Small pub, mostly with middle-to-old-aged people. Odd at first, but it gets better. I looked at beer chart - WOW! Many, many, many sorts of beer sorted by land, they came from. Many different types too. If you need help - bartenders will help you choose... More
