This place really is a hidden gem and anybody who is values quality ale of many variations and strength will love it. We found it on our first night after trying a few bars with a limited selection without realising this would be any different. I didnt realise what choice there was until I asked the barman "Can we have... More

Beautiful beers not that far away from all the main drag. Well worth a visit if you want to sample some slightly more creative brews.

this is a really nice, atmospheric, old bar. nice traditional environment, great range of beers and helpful, knowledgeable staff. not sure if it's a top city attraction, but well worth a visit as a contrast to some of the more touristy parts of town.

I've been visiting this bar for many, many years and it never ever fails to impress. Huge choice of beers, from the standard hum-drum pilsners to some very special (and strong) beers that are difficult to find. The beer list is ALWAYS outstanding!! The staff are very friendly and knowledgable and will guide you through any choices you need to... More

It's an average pub with rude staff . Got a plate of very ordinary cheese and beer after being mocked by the barman. It's pretty grubby and charmless. Don't go out of your way to find it.

This bar has old world charm with outstanding, knowledgeable and friendly service. Great place to relax and watch the world go by. "The Burger Bar" a couple of doors down has great juicy burgers and fresh cut fries. When you get done eating, go back to Wildeman and try another beer. I'm sure they will have one that you have... This place is a real find in Amsterdam.. especially if you like your beer.. and when I say beer, I mean PROPER beer.. which also means it's NOT frequented by 'hens and stags', who tend to want to just poor pints of Heinken down their necks! The staff are friendly and really knowledgeable about the product.. will gladly advise you... More

Great speciality beer cafe, no loud music, just the atmosphere of an old shop. Staff is competent, can give you a lot of information about the beers, they are lovely and attentive. Lots of books and pamphlets lying around to give you even more information on the beers, other beerbars in the Netherlands and upcoming beer events. Even before the... More

Great place if you just want to taste a couple of real special beers from all over the world. Don't go here if you want a evening out with music, but come here to enjoy a special beer! And also don't forget to order a plate of cheese, for only 5 euro you get a small place full with cheese... More

We popped in to this little place as we were looking for local beers. When you are travelling to 9 different countries and trying to consume 200 different beers you need bars that a unique and serve true local beers. This is certainly one of them! Nick (the bar tender) was excellent and very knowledgable. He recommended some great beers... More
