Also the face of Amsterdam. Around it a lot of opportunities for visiting various stores and restaurants. You can't miss it. A canal trip in Amsterdam is defenitely one of my recommendations

Did this at night on boat. Fun and interesting. Would have liked a little more explanation of what we were seeing, but I think we might have been the only ones listening anyway.

Wonderful canal to either stay in the vicinity of, or simply visit, either by canal boat, or on foot to get to one of the numerous cafes.

Better take the canal cruise right next to Central Station. In 1 hour canal tour they ll take you to all major canals of Amsterdam including this one. Nothing very special just a canal like others

Having lived on this canal it is my favourite, lovely shops, trees, cafes, bridges, museums, there is nothing not to like. Walk the length of the canal and drop in on the Van Loon Museum makes a prefect day.

No trip to Amsterdam would be complete without the canal cruise. Various on offer. We took the Gray from across from Centraal Station. You can get discounts so look for brochures and discount shops. Headphones on the boat give you translation in 14 languages

I loved all the bridges over the canal and on every bridge there is bicycles parked. Never seen so many bicycles in my life. The iron work on the railings are also very special.

Of the three big canals this rates as number 2. But you can stroll along the canal and take in traditional Amsterdam with lovely buildings and of course the canal with canal boats

I lived on Keizersgracht in a beautiful updated canal house for a year. In my opinion it is the best of the canals within the historic district. Lovely and I miss it like crazy.
