While in Amsterdam, you must do the "hop on, hop off" canal tours! A lot of fun and a great way to enjoy the canals and the history along the way

The canals of Amsterdam are a must to be on when visiting this beautiful city. Yes the canals look great from terra firma but to fully appreciate the beautiful waterways one must be on a boat and cruise the various canals.

As previously mentioned all the Canals including the jordaan is worth doing on foot. Spend the whole day traipsing around the canals taking pictures of houses, bridges and anything that takes your fancy. Plenty of places to stop for lunch and a coffee. Very enjoyable IF THE WEATHER IS NICE.

Like the Prinsengracht and Herengracht, this is the place to visit beautiful old Merchants Houses, stroll along the banks of the Canal or take a sight-seeing boat. Get off at Leidsestraat and walk one block NORTYH to the Floating Flower Market on the Singel. Or go across the Amstel to the Amsterdam Hermitage Museum (to the East), GFo west and... More

Like other Amsterdam canals it's beautiful. Can't really add more, it's not that different from other canals and it's really worth the visit - like other canals.

What is Amsterdam without its canal? Getting a ride on the canal boat and viewing the city is one thing you cannot miss out on. The city is so characteristically built that after you've been around Amsterdam, when you see a random picture you can still spot Amsterdam in it. A walk by many of these canals give the real... This canal contains some wonderful examples of Dutch Renaissance style houses along its banks, and you will also see the most famous wooden drawbridge - The Magere Brug or skinny bridge in the whole of Amsterdam. This canal also contains a number of beautiful houses now converted into museums along its banks.
