Beautiful canal and neighborhood

Our hotel was on this canal and it was a beautiful place to stroll during the day or evening. Architecture is wonderful with lots of surprises as you walk along the street.

Our hotel was on the Herengracht (Banks Mansion- lovely FYI) and they suggested a canal cruise. We took a canal cruise that went quite a way down the Herengracht and I must say that the perspective from the boat is MUCH better. Trying to get a good view of the buildings when you are on the sidewalk looking up is... More

You can just wander around the HG and Prinsengracht and it's great to view the house styles as well as the house boats. If you can take a boat tour as well to see these streets. Look carefully at the houses and you'll notice they lean forward, so they can hoist heavy good up on the small gantries at the... More

Lots of shops, houses and restaurants on one of the historic canals in the central ring. This one was defined by the number of wealthy personages residing here and many of the homes are bigger and more elaborate than elsewhere.

Amsterdam's most important canal where the Mayor of Amsterdam residence sits besides. Great boat trips to view the historic buildings along this canal and pick up general information such as this!!

Our hotel was located on the Gentlemen's Canal. Great architecture, probably best seen from a canal cruise, but also worth a wander along the streets. Take care of the traffic, bicycles everywhere!

This is considered the most important canal in the city as the rich and influential folks of the city have an address here. Take a canal tour and you will be able to see one of the most photographed views of Amsterdam, the famous seven bridges of Reguliersgracht. Admire the prestigious and historical houses here at leisure.

The Herengracht is one of the Famous Canals in Amsterdam. The many canalhouses are a few hundred years old and all different. They are sooo pretty? I just love it. You can take a walk and simply admire them or take a canalboattrip..
