This was the best thing we did in Amsterdam. We initially went to Anne Franks house, which in itself was interesting. This however raised questions with us as to how all of that could happen and what did the people do to let in continue for so long etc We stumbled upon this museum on our last morning. There was... more

It gives a wonderful history of the Netherlands under German occupation. Actual artifacts as well as models, bring to life the trials and tribulations of the Dutch, at that time. It definitely was worth a visit, but a hall full of noisy school children , out on an excursion, did disturb us. Otherwise, we were glad not to have missed... more

We visited this Resistance Museum on June 26, 2009, after seeing the ones in Copenhagen and Oslo. We were very impressed with the layout and features of this Museum. It was truly one of the best we had seen on this trip and I encourage you to go if you are interested in this era. It is in a new... more

The Resistance Museum is an interesting look at the impact of WWII on the Netherlands, but most of the information presented is about the war years in general. While the resistance movement was certainly highlighted, there were few specific stories about individuals and their actions during the war. Large scale events, like strikes and student demonstrations, were well covered, but... more

This interactive museum is a moving tribute to the brave people of Holland who fought against the Germans. You move from year to year of the German occupation and see how the Dutch suffered and died and the brave resistance fighters who always fought back. Its across the street from the zoo, so after you have watched the animals just... more

The The Resistance Museum (Amsterdams Verzetsmuseum) is a small but amazing museum that is a great compliment to the Anne Frank House! The museum focuses on the German Occupation and the Nazi rule in the Netherlands during the World War II (1940-1945). The exhibits are some of the best and most organized exhibits I have ever seen. The exhibits are... more

The resistance museum takes you through a journey of Holland during the war years seeing how the occupation had a deep impact on Dutch people. You will need time to stop and read the real life stories to get a real feel for what happend and how it affected the lives of ordinary people. May not interest younger children. Ask... more

Such a lovely museum, packed full of interesting information and artefacts, and presented in an accessible way. it was so quiet when we visited too, which was lovely as the bigger museums get packed. I had tears i my eyes several times, it really is moving. Some amazingly inspirational sories to be found here, I recommend it highly. more

Although I have been to Amsterdam many times over many years, finding this museum was an incredible and exciting new adventure. I was impressed by the depth and amount of information presented in a relatively small space, but also by the artistry and imagination of the exhibits. My favorite? An exhibit about letters, written by Jewish detainees being shipped off... more
