The Amstel is one attraction that you will want to experience when you arrive in Amsterdam and it is easy to find!!! Heading south out from Centraal Station, go along Damrak (towards Dam Square) and straight on through Rokin (you'll head pass Madame Tussauds Museum) - it's about a half hour walk in total. If you head south on one... More

If you are looking for a bike ride that will guarantee you can't get lost, head along the Amstel for a memorable sampling of what Amsterdam and its neighboring towns have to offer. In the city, you'll see its famous canal houses as you pass by numerous bridges and canals. As you near the city's edges, you'll see Amstelpark and... More

You can't miss this when in Amsterdam. The Amstel is great - nice romantic stroll - day or night - hand in hand - beautiful sights of all the boats moored up and the splendid building paving the way beside the water and the wonderful stalls where you can buy most things from. This will be one romantic stroll you'll... More

My favorite Canal among all those in the city. It was nice to walk along this canal and admire the many boats moored, but even more so the fantastic buildings that follow one another along it. Also the presence of beautiful stalls where you can buy the famous Dutch tulips and all of the seeds that concern. Very nice and... More

I highly recommend staying in a hotel along the Amstel while in Amsterdam. You are just minutes by subway from the hustle and bustle of Dam Square and Centraal train station etc. Yet the quiet peaceful neighborhoods have restaurants, little grocerie stores and boutiques nearby. We had our morning coffee on the hotel balcony and watch the people & ships/boats... More

We have been in the Botel for 6 days. The room was wonderful, very clean. Bathroom small as expected in a boat. The breakfast was very good, juice and coffee were excellent, and there was plenty of choices, hot and cold, savory and sweet from the buffet. The staff is helpful and attentive. The terrace in the upper deck is... More

The Amstel is the river from which Amsterdam derives it's name. You will see here a huge variety of different boats making their way about the city. Rembrandt has painted this area and if you visit, you will see why. Definitely great for a boat cruise, walking or cycling. There is plenty to do in the area and it's near... More

The Amstel is indeed pretty ...this river is giving you the serene atmosphere...or perhaps because it was in the morning, as I notice that the river is bustling with tourists and all their vehicles...just strolling around the area and enjoy the scenery is lovely as well... The last time I came here I didn't get a chance to take the... More
