One of only a few windmills close to Amsterdam this is quite a sight to behold if you have never seen one up close before. It is huge and a beautiful structure that provides you with great photo opportunities. There is also a statue of Rembrandt very close by as well as one of the canals.

This windmill is quite a sight to see. It is much bigger than it looks in the pictures and it is an absolutely amazing structure. When you think of Holland, you might think of windmills which makes this huge windmill so iconic.

I visited this place in march 2014. It's a very much picturesque and scenic sight located lonely on one of the outside corner of the Amstelpark. It's worth a visit and not to be missed kind of attraction of Amsterdam. It is a wonderful sight as it is scenic from all the angles. There is amstelpark on one side and... More

Riekermolen is one of the 8 windmills that you can find in amsterdam though all is not in the city centre. This windmill lays along the amstel river and just outside the amstel park. It's a 'polder' mill. A family lives in this windmill so you can only walk around the mill and take pictures. You can find the statue... More

The Rickermolen is located just outside the Amstelpark and across the Amstelland, it is apparently the only windmill left in Amsterdam and built in 1636. It is a bit off the normal tourist areas but close to the Amsterdam Zuid business area, closest train station will be the Amsterdam Rai - then a nice walk through the Amstelpark. Definitely worth... We visited the Riekermolen or Windmill as a part of our tour to the Netherlands. When we visited , theweather was not so friendly ,its cold and rain are pouring. But it didnt stop us to observe the Windmill. This Iconic structure is a must see if you are visiting Holland. We now aware of the original size and its purpose.

Great to see windmill houses though not much are left around in sight in Holland. They are a trademark representing Holland and it will be a pity if these houses no longer relevant in the modern society.

Visited this windmill during a "joy ride tour". It is the only windmill in amsterdam and was build in 1636 and moved to its current location in 196. Today it is some ones residence. People who want to live in windmills must go through a training program. Then they have to wait on a waitinglist, which could takes several years... More
