This is the name of a theatre building. This beautiful neo-Renaissance building is an eye-catcher. The location is in the middle of the busiest Leidseplein (leidse square). It was used to be the Dutch National Opera house until 1986. Inside you will be amazed by the beauty of the architecture of an old style opera house. You can't miss seeing... More

Recessed windows and steeples give the building a classical look while the tan/orange color of the exterior accent the building nicely. De Stadsschouwburg is Amsterdam’s Theatre for Performing Arts and while... More

The Lasagna and Ravioli plates we ate were ok but slightly salty. My wife was shocked seeing a mouse rushing through the restaurant looking for food droppings on the floor.....

The City Theatre for Performing Arts in Amsterdam is centrally located in the city. It's close to numerous restaurants, bars, pedal boats, the casino and much more. We watched a ballet performance of Scapino from Rotterdam. It was called 'Le Chat Noir' (the black cat) and it was fun. The theatre building is beautiful, especially the inside. There is also...
