Missed out attending in 2008 - was glad to visit today though. Beautiful weather with nice flowers/gardens in bloom. Lots of space to sit down in garden areas but it was crowded today - not a bad thing though considering lots of zoos don't have those areas. Animals appeared active and healthy from what we observed. The cooler weather had... More

Great indoor exhibits, some cages very depressing. Understandable as built in crowded city centre. Restaurant food expensive but ok.

I saw every exhibit in about 3 hours, which was great! My favorite the monkey house where you walk around in a habitat and the monkeys can get very close to you. My fiance and I were very fortunate to see the world's smallest monkey inches away as it was eating from one of the feeders. The zoo is a... More

My teenage children enjoyed seeing animals in captivity that were being supported with breeding and health.

This is the best zoo I have ever been to! Lovely animals, clean tidy and the animals look healthy and happy. Wish I could go more often! Defiantly worth a visit

Whilst visiting Amsterdam with our granddaughter she said she would like a day at the zoo which is close to the centre of the city so off we went. The entrance fee is 16.50 euros for children and 19.50 euros for adults. The zoo is kept clean and tidy although when we visited there was quite a bit of work... More

I was a zookeeper for some years so I decided to visit the zoo whilst in Amsterdam. It's a good zoo with a good range of animals. The butterfly exhibit is excellent as is the aquarium. There are some nice walk through areas with free roaming birds, lizards and marmoset monkeys. Some exhibits had signs in English and Dutch, some... More

Artis Zoo The Zoo is big and if you don’t have your own buggy I would suggest you borrow one of the child trolleys they offer for free. Our 2 year old was tired quite quickly. Cost It was Free for us to enter the zoo by using the AMSTERDAM card which I would recommend buying. There is no map... More

Possibly the most diverse zoo I've been to. Lots of things to see and do. The butterfly house, insectarium, penguins and owl made it very worth it. great day out.

We have done Zoo's around the world over the years and this one sits in our top 3 ! Despite grim rainy weather my daughter and I loved every minute, such a diverse variety of animals in just beautiful settings very well laid out with the chance to get shelter if needed ! Informative signs in Dutch and English !... More
