Great place for kids, very welcoming staff, came in early (9:00 a.m) so had the chance to enjoy the many highly-detailed and realistic figures placed. Each setup is nicely laid out, the information supplied was good, and it was beneficial to finally learn on the process through which the figures are made. Numerous photo opportunities suggested by the museum are... More

I've been here a couple of times, it's cool to see who is there and who was new to the exhibit. The tourist crowd can make the line long and difficult to get around, but it's still fun. The tour starts with some facts about Amsterdam and the Netherlands with a large animated man, but you know how people are,... More

It's was well spend 20EUR for ticket. We came late (around ~19.00) so there was no queue and no waiting time. The statues of famous people were amazing - the attention to details is crucial for this kind of 'art' and they really were detailed. This museum is aeally a good place to visit in Amsterdam.

Firstly we had to wait for 30 min to get inside, because staff was working very slow... Then my second disappointment was about a size of the museum. Its located in such a huge building, so i was very upset to see that only couple of rooms were available for visiting. Also there were a lot of Dutch celebrities, which... More

The museum itself was lots of fun but the children were dissapointed that Fiona from Shrek was supposed to be there and advertised as such but her display was empty with a sign saying she was visiting another museum? It also, understandably so, had a lot of Dutch celebrities who we had never heard of. We went 50 minutes before... More

It's not as good as the London one but was still very much enjoyable. Gets really busy so get tickets beforehand so you can que jump! Was even able to make the our own wax hand model costs start from 10euros but took a long time as the que was long. All your famous stars from movies, music and sports... More

It is a nice place spread over 3 floors. The highlight of the museum being the James Bond, Marlin Monroe and of course the local Anne Franc. The ticket system was also quite good. Any ticket if purchased a day in advance is given at a discounted rate, and that too an express entry is permitted for it. That takes... More

We visited Madame Tussauds during a rainy day. It was a little disappointing. Not a lot of celebrities .... and some "People" like the football player van der Vaart and his ex wife which you don't expect there .... not famous enough ! Johan Cruijff should have been a better choice. Madame Tussauds London has much more to offer.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
