Part of a major project to employ Amsterdamets during the great Depression the Amsterdamse Bos was designed and built by thousands of men and kept a large part of the economy going. Nowadays it's a fantastic place to ride a bike around take a long walk and a possible picnic. You can get there by bike, car or public transport... More

We hired two small bikes and went on cycling through lush green jungle in the city of Amsterdam. It is very romantic place with lot of greenery. An ideal place for a picnic even in the winter season. This place must be a very ideal location for a barbeque day during summer season.

Bigger than we initially expected. Everything was so lush and green .... very peaceful surroundings. Specially dedicated walking trails for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Would be a wonderful day trip for a picnic .... not too far out of the city centre.

Just 15mins from the city is the Amsterdamse Bos, a large forest, with lakes to row and paddle in, cycle paths, even a small farm where you can watch goats getting milked, feed pigs, and buy homemade produce. Definitely a must for a lovely day, and if you want something different and have the time to rent a bike to... More

Amsterdamse Bos is a hudge park build during the early years of the 20th century during the recession. Today it is one of the nicest parks near Amsterdam which runs from Amsterdam Zuid , to Schiphol Airport and Amstelveen. It's ideal for long walks and cycling.

Nice place to have a walk. Don't forget to take your dog there! he'll absolutely love it!! Lots of paths and open spaces to walk, and a couple of cafeterias where to ask for a Chocomel (hot chocolate) with whipped cream and sit outside in the close terrace in front of the fireplace. In the summer you can bring the... More
