We spent a great morning (4 hours) with Andrie as he had shown us around Amsterdam and took us to a windmill museum. I found him to be very knowledgeable about lots of current aspects of life in Amsterdam - not just a script dealing with things that are more than 100 year old as very common for guides. Would... I'm a few weeks late writing this review. We had a wonderful day with Adrie touring Zaanse Schans, Edam, The Henri Willig factory, and a small village (Sorry, I cannot remember the name). Adrie also took the long way round when picking us up and dropping us off so he could include a quick drive through tour of Amsterdam, which... More

Adrie was great. When I contacted him for a tour he suggested to pick us up from the airport so we save on a pick up fee and a separate tour fee. It was a rainy day when we arrived and adrie managed to take us around and show us places that we could enjoy from the car with out... More

Adrie picked us up at our hotel and that was the beginning of a fantastic day in the Netherlands. We booked a full day tour and enjoyed every minute of our day. Adrie is a brilliant tour guide and kept us entertained for the entire day. His knowledge and pride with being a Hollander was evident throughout the day. A... More

We are a family of 9 persons (7 adults and 2 children) and we did a private tour with Adrie to Zaanse Schans, Marken and Volendam with a wooden shoe making workshop thrown in there. Adrie was highly professional, responsive and an excellent guide. We spent a whole day with him and learned a lot about the Netherlands, its history... More

We met Ardie at the cruise terminal and quickly began a tour of the city. Ardie knows the history and the culture. Very nice van for transporting our group of 8. We then went on a lovely tour of the windmills where Ardie walked with us educating us on the history. We visited a cheese making facility and a quaint... More

We booked a full day tour after disembarking our cruise ship in Amsterdam to take advantage of the day before flying home the next morning. Our experience using this company was excellent all around. Adrie was quick and professional in responding to email inquiries and tailoring an itinerary per our request. We dropped certain tourist spots as we’ve visited them... More

My family and I experienced a couple of wonderful days in and around Amsterdam with Adrie Boerefijn our tour guide. He spontanously adapted his tour according to the current weather conditions and also according to our wishes! Saw a lot of the old town and the surroundings of Amsterdam, heard many interesting facts about the history of the town and... More

The mechanics of booking a private tour guide over the internet are easy, but the thought of putting the quality of one's travel experience largely in the hands of an unknown person in another part of the world leaves some of us with a certain amount of anxiety. Will the guide prove to be knowledgeable, efficient, resourceful, intelligible, flexible and... More

Two buses full of cruisecritic members from the Serenade of the Seas were taken care of by Private Tours NL in April 2015. Our bus was modern and clean, but perhaps its best feature was a second door in the center of the bus which allowed for quicker loading and unloading. We had nice stop at a farm featuring cheese... Neighborhood Profile
Eastern Docklands (Oostelijk Havengebied)
A visit to Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands presents the opportunity to marvel at its many modern architectural masterpieces like the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam and the beguiling Python Bridge while taking in its scenic waterfront with its trendy assortment of cafés, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Here in this post-industrial (though in some parts still very much presently industrial) neighborhood, you’ll find a smart selection of cool galleries and shops as well as the kid-friendly Science Center NEMO and the National Maritime Museum.
