I pass through here on my bicycle every day to go to work. It's a lovely neighbourhood with traditional buildings and lots and lots of small bars, foodshops and coffee places.

If you want to enjoy Amsterdam and if you are not into Zara, H&M etc. This is where you should go. It's a great neighbourhood for shopping and dining. Here you can find many local Boutiques. And there are a few good restaurants and bars. But beware of tourist traps. Don't enter a restaurant which sells pancakes or anything else... More

It's a chic shopping area, not for low budgets but really nice to walk down the pretty streets. Lots of shops (bags, shoes, etc), and, of course the tipical gift shop. Also traditional bars and coffee shops too. Expect to spend at least two or three hours here...

a truly romantic experience around de negen straatjes, with all sorts of fascinating little shops to amaze the eye. The surroundings are a pleasure to walk by, not much road traffic of cars here so you can just walk around and pay attention to the little marvels laying around here

Each street is full of shops, cafes, bars, etc. You can easily wander around and find much to look at. The shops are boutique type shops and have nice clothing and accessories. Always something to catch your attention. Many little cafes, chocolate shops, and restaurants to sit down and take a break during your shopping. Fun way to spend an... More

A nice area to shop or just to stroll in. Favourites were Pompadour patisserie and Tromp cheese store. Design and fashion, but also more quaint stores with second hand. Record shop and nice cafes.

This is shopping at its best. Because all the quirky stores in "The Nine Streets" seems to be run by individuals. Clothes, shoes, accessories and other stuff, on a human scale, not bought wholesale from factories in the East.
