Nine blocks in the middle of the canal district - fun, lots of people (both tourists and locals, unique small shops with very varied inventory, nice old houses and plenty of small cafés and restaurants to sit down and rest for a while.

Beautiful sceneries around and plenty of shops to choose from and enjoy. Though the kind of shopping experience you might expect are not found here. Nothing out of the ordinary.

These are just a few streets with some shops and cafes ... The real Jordan is more fun to walk through.

This is an excellent location to see a range of quirky and lovely places where modern and vintage blend seamlessly. Good shops, not crowded or commercial and the jewel in the drown is Episode the best second hand shop I have been into, and trust me, I have seen a few.

These 9 narrow, XVII century survivals are the best streets to go (window) shopping, finding awesome little bookstores, galleries and cafés. These 9 blocks are just in the middle of the canal areas, not really far from the busy Kalverstraat, but it is still an oasis. Even though it's a bit gentrified, there is a lot of authenticity in the... More

This is Amsterdam's Greenwich Village. The area is replete with little boutiques, selling everything from homemade jewelry to beautiful handbags. The area has a generous number of small restaurants with tables set outside. We loved it here and spent most of an afternoon. When you tire, take a bench by one of the canals and enjoy the view. We had... More

I looooved the nege straatjies. There I found creativity and history cosying up on the same "drempel". Book & newspaper stores, food & drink for different tastes, designer clothing, organic food stores, second-hand clothing, bargains vs over-the-top prices: YOU make the choice. But, this is where I felt most at home ... almost like Cape Town!

Great area to stroll and shop, people watch, eat, etc.... My highlight of the entire area was Ijscuypje ice cream!!!!! I had a cone with chocolate, pistachio & yogurt. Can I just say the yogurt was probably the most delicious thing ever! Highly recommend trying out this place!
