Beautiful "off the beaten path" strip of shops restaurants and lights. Great for a stroll if you're tired of the craziness downtown.

These small streets have all what one likes in Amsterdam. Only unfortunately they are becoming more touristic and thus so is the offer. I really hope the streets will be able to maintain their own character and not follow the main stream. The bars and small restaurants offer various kinds of food at various price levels. The boutiques are nice... More

This little area is full of unique, interesting and quirky little boutique shops. Its the sort of place you can go back to again and again and find something new every time. Of particular note was the photo gallery by the canal (whose name escapes me) - full of fabulous images from around the world by many famous photographers.

A great selection of shops and restaurants. From one-off boutiques and chain stores, the options are great.

I didn't see anything particularly interesting here. A few nice looking cafes and a couple of nice shops, but mostly things of little interest to myself. Worth a visit on a "you can say you've been there" basis, and to see the nearby canals.

Pretty neat place to "walk around" in.. Many different shops, cafes. Many different types of shops. The walk alone is worth the time to see the area yet be able to hit the unique shops in the area. Worth the time to walk thru!

Lovely, if slightly over-developed, shopping area. Charming shops and cafes on streets perpendicular to the main central canals.

De Negen Straatjes (the nine small streets) are located only a few hundred yards behind the Palace on the Dam square. It's exactly that, namely 9 narrow little streets, but the location is perfect and easily walkable. The area is dissected by 3 of the major canals and the views are absolutely stunning. The area is relatively small. but offers... More

If you want to see great and local stores (fashion, design and decor), good food and nice buildings alongside the canals, de 9 small streets is the place. Take a bike go around!
