I am not a museum type of person, but I read about this attraction and thought it might be worth a visit. It was. Nicely presented, informative and just about the right amount of artefacts etc to view without getting boring. They are apparently going to modernise, shame, its the character that makes this special and I think it will... more

As one who is Catholic, this was an amazing sight. Not only did the tour give a great insight into everyday life, it was just inspiring to think that one man, realizing religious persecution, would build this. more

This was a great museum, there were good written descriptions in all the rooms. It packs a lot of daily -life history into a space that is much bigger on the inside than you would would think from the outside. I did get the feeling of what attending a service would have been like in the attic church during that... more

You get canal views from the merchants house all the way to the top floor where you come out into a beautiful Catholic church which was... more

An interesting opportunity to see how p[erspectives changes on oppression, discrimination and power. Plus, it is beautiful, interesting, offer the opportunity to see the rest of the house and how people lived then. Short, interesting, fun. Offbeat, quirky, but cool. more

I've been to Amsterdam four times and have sampled quite a lot of its museums. The Amstelkring was very interesting. I have studied history so perhaps I am biased. My sister however also enjoyed it and she does not normally find history enthralling. It does not take much time, maybe one hour if you're efficient. When you buy your tickets... more

Bang in the middle of the red light district and with a simple "Museum" sign outside you could perhaps expect very little from this tourist attraction. However ,inside there are various floors and "in the attic" a real ornate and impressive catholic church (accommodating hundreds of worshippers) I went to Amsterdam for a boozy music trip but this was very... more
