It's as spread out as other European train stations so a fair bit of walking, but very easy to navigate - the signs really can't be missed or misinterpreted. Everyone else warned about pickpockets and thieves, so we were careful, but I didn't really notice groups of shady people standing around and I'm pretty street smart and aware. More

It is huge station. There are 15 tracts. about 1500 train arrive and depart daily. This station is little confusing and complicated. Some local train does not leave here. Please check train station for yourdestination. You can take tram and bus in front of the station. More

Avoid the traffic, avoid the parking problems. Go by train. Amsterdam isn't that big. You can walk from the station-which is a nice old building already- a visit several places on foot. We visited Bloemenmarkt, Waterlooplein (not much in rainy weather) the Dam, Leidse plein, 'Rose buurt'. More

Took me 4 station personnel to understand a simple question about where a train was expected. OTH, the station is beautiful outside. Be aware they charge for WC and it is exact change only. More

Centraal Station is a very "user friendly" train station. Upon entrance to the station is an information booth where they speak an array of languages to better serve you while in Amsterdam. Inside the station, you will also find the Travelex counter to exchange money and everyone who sits behind the window is very approachable as well as helpful. If... More

A hub of transport - catch a ferry, train, bus, bike, boat or tram from here... it has everything! There are also places to change money, the main tourist info point of the city and so on. It's always busy, so be warned - but can be nice to watch everyone file in and out of the beautiful building and... More

I've lived in Europe a while, but this Central Station is pretty dang impressive! Even the German boyfriend had a jaw drop moment. Don't worry about making your way inside (unless you really want), you can admire it from outside. Plus you're probably bound to see it walking around anyways. If you're visiting the Sex Museum it's just up the... More
