No visitor should go to Amsterdam without visiting the home of Anne Frank. The museum is really well done and tells the story of Anne Frank and her family in a way that respects the memory without being too touristy. Having said that, though, it is a very tourist-friendly destination that is easy to navigate. We particulary liked the short... more

Although most of us are very familiar with the story of Ann Frank and her family, the story becomes much more moving, if that is possible, with a visit to the home where she was hidden during the war. This visit is a must for any visitor to Amsterdam. Note that there are some very steep and narrow stairs. Also,... more

This was a must see for me when I went to Amsterdam. It was a little hard for us to find, but we blamed it on the little sleep from the night before. When we first saw it, there was a line that wrapped around the building back to the canal (almost 2 blocks), so went and ate. After we... more

I strongly recommend that before you go, you read "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank. I read it before going to the museum and going behind the bookcase to the stairs to the hiding area is eerie. It is a very poignant place and important for all of us to experience. more

The Anne Frank House offered enough direction to provide pertinent information, but enough freedom to go at your own pace and contemplate for as long or as little as you prefer. The home has been set up with some original items from the home, as well as models. Where things aren't as detailed as you would expect, reasoning is given.... more

A visit to Amsterdam is not complete without going to the Anne Frank House. It is especially appropriate as this year Anne would have turned 80 years old. It is haunting to walk through the rooms where Anne, her family and four others hid for two years and where of course she wrote in her famous diary. To look outside... more

The inspiring true life story of Anne Frank is brought to life at the Anne Frank House. Being able to walk through the Secret Annex even after all these years since first reading her diary was an emotional experience. Not to be missed by anyone. more

I visited the house just a few days ago (late September) - I arrived in the morning, around about 10 30am - no queues at all. I had considered pre-booking online but did not want to be confined to a set-time and judged that late September is not usually when most people would visit - I visited on a Tuesday.... more
