Great to have so many Van Gogh paintings in one place. You can't help but be overwhelmed when standing in front of famous pieces like Sunflowers. We loved the chance to see some of the less famous pieces and choose a favourite. Audio guides a nice touch and kept my 7 year old son happy. Get there early as huge... More

This was by far my favourite museum to date. Even though I was not a die hard Van Gogh fan going in, I loved it. I learned so much more about his life as well as some some of his less famous work which was really interesting. I would recommend paying the 5 euros for the audio guide as it... More

I loved the way they presented Van Gogh life story from his family tree in pics letters, drawing, paintings and audio to his friends and family. This is so far my fav museum even over Rijksmuseum. Not to be missed. Will come back with my daughter. Free entrance covered by the I Amsterdam Card.

This museum is well worth the visit. Very large spaces. Very long line-ups if you don't buy your tickets in advance. Best if you are a fan. Only have to go once.

If you buy a ticket at the booth over near the "I am amsterdam" structure you get to skip the long line. it's a bit pricey with no student discount and have to pay extra for the guided tour (electronic kind you wear around your neck) but over all the layout for venturing through Van Gogh's life and work is... Took the number 2 tram from Centraal Station to the Rijksmuesum, and then went to the Van Gogh museum. Both are well worth visiting, and are about 100 yards from each other. Loved the way the Van Gogh arranged their collection, culminating with seeing Sunflowers on the top floor. No photos, even without flash, are allowed, which was a little... More

We booked tickets in advance which avoided the long queue. The museum is well laid out and has an amazing selection of works. We hired the headphones which gave a better insight into the paintings. It was a little busy, which meant that we couldn't always get near to all the works, but well worth the trip.

Excellent museum. The restaurant is also very good but a good idea to book tickets online first to avoid queues.
