A lovely presented art museum, telling the story of his art work & his life. The audio guides were great (even a kids version too) . Well worth a visit here

The beginner and lay person will learn immense amounts about the extraordinary journey to greatness Van Gogh undertook under such difficult circumstances. The expert and committed art lover will be similarly instructed and will have their prior and learned understandings challenged and enhanced. Not to be missed.

Great museum - greatest collection of van Gogh's works. Saw many pieces I had never seen before, especially early work. Displayed chronologically so you can see his artistic progression. Works include others who were contemporary and influenced his life. Half-day. Close to several other museums. Tourist friendly. Buy your 15-euro tickets at the kiosk in the Museumplein, to avoid the... More

Purchase tickets on line before you visit. You will not regret it! The museum is not huge but is placed on several floors. Loved everything!

Length of queue somewhat off-putting at the start, especially for so early in the day; however it did move along and once inside we began the journey of this great artist. The atmosphere was perfect to indulge oneself entirely of Van Gogh the man and the artist. A beautiful building with all mod cons to round off an enjoyable experience.... More

Visited the museum with a friend and felt it told a good story of Van Goghs life. The paintings were interesting and beautiful. It does not overwhelm you and we went along at a good pace. Restaurant has great food!

Our entire family really enjoyed the Van Gogh Museum, partially because we each had the excellent and informative audio guide to accompany us throughout the exhibit. The museum, to its credit, even created a kids version that kept my 8-year old engaged for an hour (a real accomplishment!). Really appreciated learning about the different periods of this artist's creative genius... More

Thanks to the Treasure hunt for the children at this museum me and my daughter discovered lots of interesting things! It was really great to do this activity so children wont be bored! All four floors contain Van Gogh's paintings which are very special. The souvenir shop was great too!:)
