A wonderful park close to city center.

What a wonderful park! It has miles of pedestrian/bike trails, lakes, fountains, bistros, and manicured lawns to picnic on.

If you want to see this park you will need some extra hours (at least 2) because this park is just huge! It is beautiful and i recommend visiting. If you have animals they will love it because all dogs are free in here and if you are thinking riding you bike here, you should definitely do it!!

A great place to wander through after a long day of sightseeing. Great concerts on Wednesday nights through the summer. Very safe.

Calming place for chill out located in the south right next to the city center. Well know meting point for locals as well. I was there several times, each time were there many people, who have played games, had fun etc. Revommend for chill, when you want to go away from busy city center

Amsterdam city centre is manic at the best of times, but Vondelpark is a nice, relaxing diversion from all the hustle and bustle surrounding it. There are plenty of places to sit and have a picnic, and there is always a BBQ and game of football going on. We just came to chill after our flight in, and we had... More

We attended an open air concert in this park in August, for the Grachtenfestival. A performance by the five young winners of the annual Grachtenfestival competition (classical music). Great.

Rent a bike, eat ice-cream, have a drink, feed the ducks, people watch. We rented bikes and cycled round as it is pretty large!

Beautiful park with a great vibe. Great to ride around as its different at every turn. Also a great spot to sit and relax, take in the music that someone's playing, play some Frisbee or just people watch and watch the performers doing their thing that day. Great low key day.

Nice park to take a stroll or sit down for a picnic. Very big. Close to the Van Gogh museum. Can't say it's a must-see but good to go if you're looking to kill some time. As with the rest of Amsterdam, there are bicyclists everywhere.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
