We stayed just outside this fantastic open space and really enjoyed exploring the paths. You need to be alert though, as it is full of people on bicycles or running and you could quite easily get run over as they don't hang about! There always seemed to be something going on in the park and there were several eating places... More

This one one of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited, plenty of room for lots of people & lovely little cafés, plenty of entrance & exit to just come and go

A lovely Park don't get me wrong with gorgeous restaurant located there also but I was overwhelmed by the amount of people smoking cannabis in the park. It ruined the experience for me as it was all I could smell.

Loved this park. Was able to jog every morning as we were staying close. Watch out for the bikers. They are everywhere.

Fantastic relaxed space. Free outdoor music through the summer. Great for cycling around or just sitting under a tree with a book. Herons on the canal and a large number of ducks outwith my limited species knowledge.

This beautiful park is definitely worth a visit and a great place to have some time out from site seeing. We hired bikes from our hotel and rode through the park which was a very enjoyable way to see it.

It is an average park with too many people and bikers. We couldn't enjoy ourselves here. Not worth a visit.

We rented bikes and rode through this beautiful park. It was well worth it. Bring some bread and stop by one of the ponds to feed some ducks. A relaxing way to see part of Amsterdam's nature.

Nice park to visit in Amsterdam very close to Van Gogh museum. It is a large park with lakes and lots of walking trails and grass area. People enjoy biking, walking, BBQing and sunbathing. Music is played in the park and other season activities go on as well. Lots of benches to sit down and relax. A must after a... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
