Not much to see in January but it's a great space to visit. Lots of locals use it for cycling and jogging. Worth a visit especially if you go in spring/summer.

Gorgeous park just near the major museums / a break from the crazy city centre. If you can't spend a couple of hours here, the worth a quick visit or walk through at least before or after Van Gogh museum or Rijks museum

A great place to go to at anytime of the day. Very well maintained. Check the program and make sure you don't miss on the performance played at the stage area.

The Vondelpark is a nice place to relax and enjoy the nature in the fast living city of Amsterdam. If you hotel is near the south-west of the park, you shouldn't use the tram or bus to get into the city. Take a nice walk through the park when you want to go to the city or from the city... More

Very nice chill atmosphere here. Lake was frozen over when i went but was still a really nice atmosphere. I rode around a couple laps on a bike before heading out. Good place for picnic, just walk around and talk or chill out and take a few pictures etc. note the park is very big, if you want to cover... More

Vondelpark is really nice in summer . Nice coffe from restuarant at top end and childrens wooden play area throughout the park. Locals stitting around the water features at lunchtime was good to see and very relaxing and quiet. Enjoyed sitting here for couple of hours with the kids

great place to take an afternoon stroll. I didn't go to the tea garden inside the park but heard that it is lovely as well. Nice place to spend an afternoon with some friends.

A huge green park where one can stroll along the winding paths, sit by the ponds and watch the birds. We went there around 5pm expecting a lot more activity. There were people but we would not recommend specifically visiting unless you have kids and want some open space for them to run around. We felt there was nothing much... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
