Scary! We had to enter behind the brigde and pass underneath to go to the center of the park... Well, don't go there after dark!! I was not comfortable at all. Very relaxing. On a sunny day, take a picnic and some wine/beer and just escape from the town. Highly recommended! more

This park is just gorgeous and choc-a-bloc with cyclers, walkers, joggers, dogs, all the good park things. And the neighborhood bordering the park is simply gorgeous. The homes are stately and magnificent. After we had ridden our bikes through the wonderful park, we detoured out into the swish neighborhood, which also houses the big embassies, and toured that as well.... more

What a wonderful park! The first time we went there, on a Sunday afternoon, there were lots of people on picnic, an open air concert... I remember my son riding the bike we had rented along the enchanting paths! I enjoyed it very much, one of my favourite places in A'Dam. more

For some people this park will seem like a mini Utopia, for others some aspects will feel uncomfortable; I'm in the former group. Regardless, Vondel reminds me of Holland as a whole: tolerant, carefree, peaceful, did I mention tolerant? I have visited "The Dam" quite a few times and can honestly say that Vondelpark is the niceset place to go while you're there. If it is a nice warm day ... skip the museums and head to the Vondel Park. Even on a week day there will be 100's and 100's of people enjoying life.
