Nightwatch!

The Dutch masters, which this museum houses, are so wonderful, this museum must not be missed. Rembrandt's Nightwatch was our favorite.

A must for any visitor to Amsterdam. Fantastic art, beautiful display. Best part is that photos are allowed (no flash). I personally felt that it is miles better than the Van Gogh museum

This is a great place to see some of the most important art work in the world. The entire entrance and lobby has been redone and in great Dutch style, efficient and beautiful. Take time to enjoy the cafe, the service is excellent.

It was 12 years worth waiting for. I knew the "old" Rijksmuseum very well, and could compare first hand. They really did a world class job in renovation and innovation. Of course, it is all about the classics (The modern museum is walking distance) but if you love the classics, than you are in for a treat. A marvelous blend... More

Just brilliant. Worth every minute. Must see. Spend a whole day there. Across the street (opposite direction of Van Gogh museum), across canal very nice cafe, where you can get a lunch and drink

We saw the newly renovated Rijksmuseum on our recent trip to Amsterdam. We never saw the earlier version, but were incredibly impressed with it. The combination of the old and the new architecture blends rather than clashes. Our suggestion is to book online. We hadn’t done that but got there early so were able to easily get tickets. Even if... More

Went back to see the Rijksmuseum after it was rebuilt/rehung after 10 years. Wonderful job and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the Audio machines (Euro 5) which give choice of Golden Age 45 mins or 90 mins and an overview of building works/changes/architecture. I believe there is also a childrens version available. You CAN if you... More

is amazing. I booked tickets in advance and we had no trouble getting in. You need at least 3-4 hours to see the main highlights. The audio guide is worth getting.

A great museum to visit - allow at least 2 hours. A variety of art work including of course the 'Night Watch'. There can be long lines to get in and frequent showing of tickets if you end up in the main concourse - the visitor flow could be better in places.
