This museum is definitely World-Class. After being closed for renovation the past ten years, locals are as interested in the museum as well as tourists. Consequently, it was extremely crowded when we visited. We were still able to see Night Watch and a few Vermeer paintings. This was just a fraction of available displays at the museum.

I would welcome the chance to visit again and hopefully mark it with more stars but it hasn't yet fulfilled its potential. Positive first: Just half a dozen of these paintings would be worth the trip alone, they are beautifully lit and show the textures of the paintings with great effect. The catering facilities were well thought out, the staff... More

Long waiting line, high price for entry, nothing really exceptional inside. Doesn't worth my time and ?15 for getting in, if you live in Paris and London....

Got online tickets ahead of time expecting to avoid the long lines...not the case!!had to wait 40 minutes to enter, then had to exchange our online tickets for real tickets...another line. Then saw others waiting in long lines to check oversized bags and backpacks...a lot of waiting.Museum was beautiful, enjoyed seeing Rembrandt's Night Watch and other Dutch master works.

Excellent art museum and wonderful building. Not to be missed. Need a lot of time but can target interests . I found the highlights tour ( extra fee) was fantastic . The young woman who took our group was great. The downsides are that the museum is extremely busy and the staff while enthusiastic are still disorganized.

Museum appears to be well laid out, as it should be since it has been under renovation for ten years. The Dutch section is simply stunning. Signage could be much better, and there is no connector from the first floor from one side of the museum to the other -- really odd since the museum was just redone. So after... More

We visited the just reopened Rijksmuseum on a Monday. We arrived early (they open at 9) planning to have breakfast in their new cafe but we found that it had a minimal menu (more focused on beverages than food). So we just had coffee and apple cake. Thus fortified, we started our journey taking the 90 minutes highlights tour on... More

Just re-opened and a wonderful gallery of the main treasures [Rembrandt, Hals, et al] if you are in a hurry but there is so much to see it is worth setting aside a whole day. You can go out for a meal and come back on the same ticket ON THE SAME DAY which gives you a much needed break!

Beauntifully remodeled but there are only two stalls for the women near the main entrance. There are two areas with two stalls and the line had 20-35 women each. How can a museum of this size and in this era not take into account that women need more restrooms. One woman waited in line with her baby for at least... More

While the art at the newly re-opened Rijks Museum is definitely good and could be overwhelming as mane reviewers have attested to, the disorganization and mess created by huge crowds, inadequately trained staff, lack of signages & instructions certainly spoils the entire experience and makes other world-class museums shine far brighter. If you intend to visit, be forewarned that the... More
