Great museum - lots of things to see and do. Half-day. Close to several other museums. Tourist friendly. Buy your 15-euro tickets at the kiosk in the Museumplein, to avoid the lines, then just stand in the fast line. Get there earlier the better to avoid the summer crowds.

Rjik Museum If you are Rembrandt’s night watch fan, you definitely need to go. The museum experienced 10 year renovation. It reveals to the public its modern beauty with precious ancient veil. It is also home of Vermeer’s Milkmaid. You will be surrounded by the master pieces of painters from Dutch Golden Age.

If you order tickets in advanced, you can go straight in. You can put the bags in their savings. you can go in and out the same day as long as you want. It would have been better if it could be like this for few days, since the place is huge.

The museums is so huge that you will need full one or two days to see the majority of it. So make sure you plan ahead and select sections and pieces that you want to see. I was there for 3 hours and didn't get to see as much as I wanted to. Also purchase tickets ahead of time. I... More

Lots of paintings, good explanation next to each piece. Good map and the extra audio was worth it. Spent about 5hours without rushing.

If you are a fan of "The Night Watch" and Vermeer then this is the place for you. Rembrandt will fill any artistic void that is left in your soul.

This is like the Smithsonian(s) in the United States where you have to plan to see everything over several days rather than trying to cram it in one. The museum is very popular and certain galleries can get rather difficult to navigate with so many people. however, the recent renovations have made improvements to the access, space and flow.

We had bought a Holland Pass and this is one of the gold attractions. It says front of the line but it is really just a shorter line. You could have booked a timed entrance online but we didn't have too long a wait. We used the audio tour, the 90 minute highlight. We wished we had taken more time... More
