I first visited the museum in 1962 when I lived in the Netherlands. I have since visited it at least 10 times. Unfortunately, the last time I visited in 2010, the museum was in a major renovation. I would, however, check on the status of the renovations. Inspite of the limited tour, I was would take weeks, if not years. And... More

Glad that we were there off season, even though it was still crowded. A museumkaart card is definitely a worthwhile purchase, as you can skip the long lines. Also feel that the audio guide is worthwhile, even though there were times that I had to tune out all the outside noise and listen carefully. Group guides (which I occasionally listened... More

Due to the museum's renovation only a limited gallery space is open with selected items. Rembrandt's famous masterpiece, "The Night Watch" is on display. Several Vermeer paintings can be seen. Most of the area is devoted to the Schools of Dutch Painters. If possible wait until the whole museum collection is open. More

not enough to overwhelm, just perfect. I really enjoyed it. When you finally find the Night Watchman painting, turn around and look at the one behind it and see if you can spot Robin Williams. It's crazy. Once you do you'll think you are being spoofed! :)) More

only 50 some paintings..and you can see similar in Vienna, Paris, US, etc. crowded and little seating. waiting almost 10 years for this. The misleading press release a couple of years ago that the "museum has reopened" should have clearly stated less than 10% of the collection. Still years to go before one may see this. Poor planning I think... More

First, I have been to this museum several times before - the whole collection is spectular! But, that is the problem - the whole collection is not currently available for viewing. The museum, due to renovations, only has two cramped floors open to a portion of its collection. What was there was beautiful and fabulous, and truly breath-taking - but... More
