My partner and I met Allison and opted to do a ride just outside the city. Allison was extremely friendly, personable and knowledgeable! She answered all our questions and took us to areas that helped us learn more about the Netherlands outside of Amsterdam. We visited a farm that made and sold cheese and clogs. She was very flexible and... More

Don't hesitate to book the windmill, clogs and cheese countryside tour! Allison was friendly and very knowledgeable. In addition to the windmill and Rembrandt Hoeve (farm that makes cheese and clogs), we stopped at locks, where Allison explained how the water is managed; and the Olympic Stadium area and the polders (again, a great explanation of the farmland). The pace... More

Ryan is the best driver, he takes us where we need to go and plays blink 182. Ryan helped our adventure at night and made sure to guide us in the correct direction. he made it clear our well being was at the top of his priority list. Thank you and Dean the passenger for us.

I took a private tour about a year ago, and it is one of my fondest vacations memories so I am finally writing a review. The best part was that Allison personalized the tour for me, taking into account my love of history and food. We started with the Country Tour, with time for tasting delicious cheese and to watch... Four of us did the ride in June 2015, with light rain they gave us the option to reschedule for the next day. We chose to ride that day and the weather did clear up a bit. Easy ride, combo of city, park and rural, very safe moderate pace. Alison is a knowledgeable, warm and friendly tour guide.

We had the wettest bike ride of our lives but we were in Amsterdam! Would not have missed it and enjoyed the sights as well as the history we learned....Bikes were well maintained, route well thought out and stops were informative and entertaining.

Biking where the land is constantly flat is sheer bliss. We had a great day out of the city on the Windmill, Cheese and Clogs tour. The bikes provided were in good condition and easy to handle and had fairly large side saddles where you could stash your water bottle, jacket/sweater and if need be, a sandwich lunch for the... We had a five hour private tour with Sean out into the countryside. The bikes were so comfortable and easy to ride that I could have ridden all day long and into the next. We were lucky to have a nice sunny day and the parks and polders couldn't have been more lovely. We had a nice easy pace for... More

Sean led off our group on a very wet day out into the countryside for our Cheese, Clogs & Windmills Tour. It was 5* quality & the knowledge imparted to the group was immense. You wouldn't find it on the internet or in a library. A really lovely guy and highly professional. We were supplied with top quality ponchos and... More

To say that it was a great tour is an understatement. We took a tour in Rome that ended at a working farm with sheep and a cheesemaking factory....I properly named it the "Tour that stares at Sheep!"...hence my title for this tour and as you can guess we end up at a fabulous working farm with cows. Complete with... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
