In its core, the OBA is a place is like any other library. Offering books, CD's, DVD's and whatnot, you can get whatever you're searching for. What is impressive, is the architecture and the sheer size of the library. It is definitely worth a visit, be it only for the view and the cozy terrace, or the books - hence... More

This is really the most lovely and open and airy libraries I have ever seen. It is right on the way to the Science Museum. We popped in to see the kids books. There is a great resto right there (Vapiano) and you can look into the library from there. They do handmade pasta and pizzas and salads. Loved it!

Great library with wonderful staff and a large section for kids. You are able to pay a small fee to use the computers and to print things. The staff we talked to was very pleasant and helpful.

We stopped in to view the library & washroom break. We also had a good and reasonable supper in cafeteria style restaurant on upper floor. I had pizza that was made in front of me. Service was friendly but slow. We spent time on balcony enjoying the sites of Amsterdam.

It's a library! 6 floors of books and CD's etc ;) (though they do have exhibitions and other bits and bobs I am told). However the 7th floor is a delight. It's a whole floor restaurant, very reasonably priced with much of the food cooked to order in front of you (if you watch and aren't attracted to all the... More

The most beautiful landscape I saw in Amsterdam was in the panoramic cafe of this library. You can go up and don't need to eat anything to just be there for some minutes and admire the view from the city and take great snaps. The library itself is also really interesting. Beautiful, organised and a welcoming atmosphere. They have a... More

Light, welcoming, friendly, inspiring children's library, more DVD's than HMV (although I haven't bothered to confirm this) and a great little modern cafe on the top floor with a view over the harbour and rooftops.

I decided to go into the library on my walk back to my hotel one night. They have a large selection of books and electronic library resources. I really enjoyed the library and was surprised to see that there was a cafe on the top floor. From the cafe, you also have a great view of the city and waterways.

My wife, a middle school librarian, put this on our agenda to see the Mouse House. I went along with it, and was glad I did. The library itself is in a great area to look across the canal to Amsterdam without the crowds of Centraal Staion, but the Mouse House is incredible. There is picture book and story about... More
