The Central Library is my home from home. I pick up my books, go online, chill out, have a coffee or even a really good lunch dinner, and to top all that I can enjoy one of the best cityscapes available in the entire city - and that is totally free. Apart from the various exhibitions they have to offer... More

I used to go here to study for my exams, when all university libraries were overcrowded and this place was still new and relatively unknown. I loved the architecture, the atmosphere, the study rooms, the variety of lounge chairs, the view, and of course, the opportunity to grab a coffee and have a break at the rooftop terrace. There is... The Openbar Bibliotheek has officially joined the ranks of the places that can make me feel like a kid all over again (the other one is IKEA). There are rows and rows of books and floor length windows that let in lots of natural light - the entire place is very modern and there is an entire level for multimedia!... More

Central library is a must! Everybody goes to the central part of Amsterdam, everybody sees the canals but not everybody manages to see this flat city from above. When we went there it was already quite a late evening, we sat outside, grabbed a coffee and enjoyed a new side of this great city. It's not about red brick buildings... More

This library is absolutely stunning. The modern architecture, the layout, the light and space are worth a visit. This place is one of my favourites in Amsterdam. Make sure not to miss it.

We were allowed to leaved 4 pieces of luggage and wander around for a bit. We were welcomed with some sort of musical presentation in the lobby which I found surprising being in a library. It was quickly over however. We went all the way to the top and checked out the cafe/restaurant and checked out the view. It was... More

Visited the library upon reading reviews regarding the restaurant on the top floor. The library is very modern and is nice to explore. The main reason for visiting the library was to have an early dinner at the restaurant on the 7th floor. The restaurant is sort of like a cafeteria but you can also get hot food, which is... More
