A lovely environment to spend some time. Worth going to to the 7th floor for a great lunch - loads of choice, freshly cooked and healthy. Great atmosphere. The view from the terrace is also a highlight.

We went as it was raining one morning and were pleasantly surprised. A very modern library and really big. The cafe on the 7th floor also has an outside deck overlooking the river. The cafe - La Place is excellent. Lots of choice, all freshly prepared. I had a sandwich and a pint of Grolsch, my wife had a mixed... More

Located on the top floor of Amsterdam's Central Library (right side of Central Station). Pick and choose from a variety of fresh, organic, "green" offerings (even the wine is organic), enjoy the view over Amsterdam from the terrace. VERY reasonable.

Amazing modern architecture with view over the water at oosterdoks Amsterdam. Light flooded interior makes it a great free study or work environment. Vapianos on the ground floor offers a not too bad budget lunch.

I probably did what most people who see the top attractions list on trip advisor do and asked myself, how can a library be so impressive. And it was close to the hotel we stayed at, and also free to go to it so it was an easy decision to make a short trip to. I'd heard about the view... More

Amsterdam's Library was one of my fav places to chill at the city. It has an impressive design and the titles available are even more impressive. You can also enjoy the very cozy café.

We made lunch here, but friends say that breakfast is good too. The selection is fantastic. Fruit, cooked lunches and a variety of fresh sandwiches. It's on the 7th floor so go into the library and turn right to get to the lift. The views are pretty good too.

As I was staying on a boat two minutes walk from the library it was very handy to visit. The view from the upper floors of the building were fantastic, and with a good supply of most daily broadsheets the library is well worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam.
