I love this place. There's a cafe on the top floor (6th floor I think) with a great view of the city. This library has internet and books in English. Sometimes small music events are going on outside the main entrance.

One of my favourite places in Amsterdam. It is located near water and beside Music School and there is a piano inside so if you wish to play, you can! And there are so many books around you!

We went to the Bibliotheek after reading previous reviews, it is a lovely space, very calming, with plenty to look at. on the top floor there is a cafe which looked very good, with masses of fresh food at reasonable prices. We didn't eat there, but definitely would try t in future.

wow what a library, dont forget to go up to the top floor for a snack or a meal. Shame its winter and the balcony was closed. Well worth a walk around and a book browse. Really nice view.

When you come out of the Central Rail Station, turn left. It's a little walk, but if you keep going you will see it. This library has floor after floor of books, a floor of its own of movies and cds, a children's floor, magazine area, a small museum, and a café at the top with wonderful views of the... More

This is the largest public library in Europe. Anybody can enter, form 10am to 10pm, any day of the week, all year long. Go to the third floor (my favourite, about travel) and see the study spaces, and maybe take a seat next to the huge windows, and let yourself enveloped in the beautiful view over the port. You can... We loved visiting the building and the cafe was amazing but of course being a dutch library we could only wonder at the treasure that was contained within the shelves. I'm sure had we spoken dutch the library would have been much more special

I loved this place, starting from the design of the building and the fact that it's the only one having a completely electronic lending service. Everything's so well organized. Designs are neat and clean. The atmosphere was just perfect: relaxed and calm. We even got to hear a little bit of on air radio broadcasting. Just perfect! There usually are... More

Even if you aren't into reading, I'd recommend this library for the sheer awesomeness of interior design (sleek and definitive lighting features) and architecture (natural lighting, glass and open concept). There are so many levels to explore with even a cafe and restaurant on different levels! The views from the glass walls are amazing as you look out into the... More

I found the library a little difficult to locate. There were excellent views from the top floor balcony
