By any standard this must be one of the best libraries i have ever visited.Multi- storey centrally located with lots of seating capacity. the cafe on the top floor is not to be missed not only for its wonderful selection of beverages and cakes but for the panoramic views. This is well worth spending a couple of hours.

Very Very Beautiful! Many floors full of books and many people studying and reading. At the last floor the view of the windows is amazing! When i was there i have the opportunity to see a mini concert of violin

I love this library... The architecture, the view for each floor where chairs are provided for you to sit and contemplate, the vast collection of books and accessible computer terminals and finally, the top floor cafe with great cafe food and a summer terrace from which you can look out over the city.

Most rude, tourist unfriendly person I have ever met. I went on 26th of december on 5th floor on search of medicine books in the 'greatest librabry of netherlands'. Right! I looked a bit on my own and not finding any department I approached the blond lady sitting at the Info desk. She looked at me quite with superiority and... More

In the years we have lived here, we have invariably come to the central library at least once a month. They have a fun collection of books, including quite a few graphic novels, a good collection of films and music. It's also just a nice place to pass the time, especially during the harsher weather. It can be a little... More

Being an avid reader, this library is one of my favorite corners of Amsterdam to " hang-out " on any season of the year. Excellent location : not far from Central Station and on to the rest of the city's tourist attractions. International newspapers. Excellent supply of English magazines on different fields. Far excellence organized departments. Lots of DVDs. Computer... More

I visited the central OBA library a number of times. It is one of my favorite place in Amsterdam, but then, I love books and information. If you don't it still is a great place to visit, as it has a la Place restaurant on the top floor and every floor has great views of the canal and city! Also... More

The top floor restaurant with stunning views across Amsterdam and lovely food. Also chairs dotted on every floor by the windows to just read and relax... Heavenly.
