Great place to chill out after the excesses of Amsterdam. Quiet, peaceful, clean, safe, lots to do at sedate pace.

A pleasant destination [not too crowded] retaining much of the original setting with a very good walk from the south along the canals to reach it. Some good bars, restaurants and cafes in the area.

The fountain sprays at random - you can try to stay dry or you can just give in to the heat and t he joy of life and get soaking wet.

It's about a 10 minute walk from Leidseplein. A nice open space surrounded the fabulous museums. A good place to walk and take some snaps even if you aren't going to the museums. Better later in the evening when it's less crowded. No place to buy food in the gardens itself but enough place to sit so get some food... More

The Museumplein is easily accessible by tram. We stayed in this area, so it was a 5 minute walk. It is also close to Vondelpark. The museum park is family friendly with plenty of action and live music. A great outdoor space when you need a break from great art!

Museumplein is scenic and a nice spot to take a break. I'd recommend going to a nearby grocery store (there is an Albert Heijn on Museumplein), grabbing a bunch of supplies (deli meats, cheeses, etc. - you can't barbecue here) and having a picnic on the grass! It's beautiful and relaxing and - on a warm day - there will... More

This is where the I am Amsterdam sign is located, as well as various large museums. Plenty of photo opportunities and a great place to sit/picnic on a hot day.

Many groups of people sat on the lawn near the three museums. What a wonderful way to enjoy the summer and drink in the atmosphere of the city.

Very popular square, lots of interesting human activity happening all over (even though very touristic). It's a beautiful place to stroll around, sit on the grass, take photos with the sign, eat some wonderful waffles or even better hot dogs, and buy some souvenirs. It's close to a lot of things, so there's no reason not to stop by.
