I really like the concept of the free tours where you tip at the end, but the Amsterdam one was not particular good. I was at one in London and my girlfriend was also at one in Berlin and we both agreed that the other tours were way better. I guess it depends a lot on the guide you get.... more

I am a solo traveller and this was a great way to meet fellow travellers and get to know a very awe inspiring city. My guide was Ryan who was extremely enthusiastic and this rubbed off on the group. His anecdotes were humourous and empathic and made the tour a must for anyone visting Amsterdam. The guides work on a... more

Wow a three hour tour with stuff I never would have seen or known about. Our guide Deidre was great. The tour is free but relies on tips if you think the guide is good. Bring good walking shoes! more

I have so far been on three free walking tours with Sandemans and plan on doing a few more. I only made it through the first hour and a half of this tour and finally left, so I can only speak for the first half. This was my least favorite out of the three walking tours I have been on... more

We took the free Amsterdam walking tour with Kevin. Overall, we found the tour to be a good experience. Kevin was energetic and fun to be around. Amsterdam can be a croweded place and Kevin handled both the tourguests and the crowd well. However, he could use a refresher on museum closing times. Advise - The lunch stop was a... more

The tour is great and I can recommend to (nearly) everyone. Our guide was Neil and we enjoyed listen to him. The pace is absolutley okay and easy to follow for everybody. Neil had a very good mix of historical facts, fun facts and was great in explaining the Dutch mentality. The tour is free because the guides work on... more

I am an older 50 plus traveler and I did the morning walking tour and the tour guide was Kevin. Kevin was an excellent tour guide. Most tours are boring and the guide goes over too much history., .. New Amsterdam tours covers alot of the cities history and they do it in a fun way. Kevin does a great... more

Having been on this tour today in Amsterdam, it has made me want to return to England and do the Sandman's tour in London! This tour was based on a tipping basis, which was given to the guide at the end, dependant on how much you enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was knowledgable, interesting, funny, professional, and clearly enthusiastic... more

Everyone advised me to take a canal boat ride during my visit to Amsterdam. Against my better judgment, I agreed to take the hop on/hop off canal boat ride with my friends that cost 18 Euros. Can you spell B O R I N G? Believe me, pass on the canal boat ride unless you want to take a nap.... more

We arrived in Amsterdam on a Saturday afternoon. Having already done the Sandeman's New Paris & New London Free Walking Tours, we wanted to add Amsterdam to the list. Saturday evening we did the Amsterdam Red Light District Tour for €10. Our guide Donald was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. It was a safe & fun introduction to the red light... more
