Our location at Aalsmeer is the largest trading centre for plants and flowers in the world. And it's just a stone's throw from Schiphol airport. The earlier you get here, the more you see. From the Visitor Centre, walk across a gallery through the auction complex. At the end of the gallery, you'll arrive at the auction halls where you'll see the flowers come before the auction clock. As you walk around, you'll find information panels which explain - in four languages - the auction process and the activities you'll be watching. There's no need to sign up for this tour in advance. You can also explore the auction with a professional guide. Reservation on the website, extra charge.

The world famous Aalsmeer Flower Auction is intriguing, but I would only recommend it if you have plenty of time to see other regional sites first. On the plus side, it is unique, a huge warehouse space, and a bustle of activity in parts. On the down side, visitors can only view flowers from far above, and the glassed-in auction... More

We took a bus from Central Amsterdam to the flower market -- and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! When we first entered the building, and walked up the stairs to the walk that visitors use, we were completely astounded by the immensity of the building. That was quickly overcome by the volume of... More

Never did I think we would see such action and activity. This place is the NYSE of cut flowers in Europe. My wife loved it. Just wished they had a guided tour down on the floor. Reasonable price and it happens in the early morning hours so you can see other sights.

thanks to trip advisor we arrived early, by car, around 7.00 but got a bit lost trying to find where to park, the signs all seemed to show only bus parking, we found to park on the roof of the building. as mentioned its worth going early as possible. we had a great time watching all the movement of flowers.... as a tourist, you can view this massive auction of fresh cut flowers from a large catwalk suspended above the production floor. Arrive early, around 7:00am to see the large number of flowers. If you arrive after 9:00am, the majority of flowers will be gone. There are written explanations all along the walkway to explain the process and what you... More

Aalsmeer flower auction is the largest cut flower market in the world. Pallets of cut blooms come in at one side, are displayed and bought by Dutch auction, and leave at the other.Words cannot convey the intricacy of the organisation, its seemingly flawless performance, or the immensity of its scale. The vast warehouse in which the fork truck loads of... More

Although not open to the public to buy flowers, this is a sight to see. One of the largest flower markets in the world where buyers from all over bid on them. It is actually an auction where you can see all of the action and hustle and bustle of the transportation systems. Self-guided tours are great.

Really interesting to see how the order lots of flowers are separated and distributed to the buyers; the delivery carts scurry around the warehouse floor. Only open to the public from 7-9 am on Thursdays -- but it was worth getting up very early for this. Easy to take the bus yourself from near the train station.

My mouth dropped when I got inside and saw the thousands of flowers loaded and moving along buggy rails ready to be transported to some lucky recipient. Make sure you are there at 7AM, as the earlier you are there, the more flowers you will see. I highly recommend this place. My third time to Holland and I am so... More
