This museum is huge! especially for Dutch standards. We've spend some time here, almost the whole day. In our opinion this museum gives you a good explanation about the 2nd. World War and what happened to Dutch citizens during the war. We didn't know that there's been such a big fight in and around Overloon. The museum has a large... More

I cycled here from the Heijderbos. The room dedicated to operation Market Garden was really interesting but the rest of the collection not so much - a jumbled collection of war machinery and vehicles.

The National War and Resistance Museum of the Netherlands is located on the site of the Battle of Overloon, a World War II tank and infantry battle between Allied and German forces that occurred in September and October 1944, just after Operation Market Garden. It's a part of Liberty Park and features military vehicles, german and allied. It has a... More

This is by far the best military Museum in Europe in my opinion. We spent a week touring Germany and visited this museum on the way back to Calais. We have visited Military museums all over Europe and this has the most amount of military memorabilia that I have ever seen. The only disappointment was that a lot of the... More

Having visited this museum 35 years ago, i remember the emotional wrench at entering the chapel in remembrance of the millions of Jews exterminated by the Nazi's. This has all now been sanitized - probably so as not to upset too many visitors. Also the Americans have now arrived in force and would have you believe that they won the... More

Planes, Tanks, Boats and even airplanes. You cannot imagine the amount of military vehicles on display before you have actually paid a visit. With (assumingly) over 3000 m² on display, this must be one of the biggest war museums around. However, it is noticably small in relation to the amount of equipment on display. There are simply too much equipment... More

Took two 13 year old boys - who absolutely loved this museum. Most everything is inside, so it was perfect place to go on a rainy day. Extensive amount of military gear is on display. The exhibits are well done, and interesting. Easy to read in English. Some interactive exhibits, as well.

Great place to visit for young & old. We visited the museum a few times in the past. It's well worth the entrance price of 14 euro. Great displays, impressive collection of allied and german military vehicles & equipment. Many of the exhibited vehicles took part in the Battle of Overloon. It's very informative and well put together. I've visited... More

Been here decades before and later on in different stages. Can meet up quite well with the Bastogne war museum. Pity nobody made up a museum for the Hürtgenwald battle which in size and endurance was more massive then the battle of the Bulge or Market Garden. Worthwhile a daytrip

This is an interesting & informative collection of military vehicles, well presented & displayed. The connection with Overloon & the battle fought there made the exhibits so much more tangible. This is definitely a place that kids would appreciate (& learn from), with some interactive displays. There was a lack of local tourist information in English, which was a shame... More
