This musemn is for Operation Overlord, and tells the story of the largest tank battle in the surrounding woods. There is a very good exhibition of photographs and a seven minute film telling the story. Then walk into an enormous hanged stuffed to the gunnels with tanks and all sorts of mechanised transport, guns and cases upon cases of amunition... More

For anyone interested in the battle of Arnhem andWW2 battles including operation market garden then this is definitely a must see, though at times it made me think a bit of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the crystal skull with all the American trucks, and possibly raiders of the lost ark. In the restaurant, we had our own reserved... More

As others have noted, the display of restored equipment here is big, amazing, and has material you don't find elsewhere. I found a Cromwell tank abandoned by the 15th/19th Hussars, my uncle's regiment, probably lost in the same offensive in October 1944 that took his life nearby. I'd never seen one and was very touched. There are dioramas with groupings... More

My adult son was keen for us to visit this museum with his friend. We are all keen and knowledgeable military enthusiasts and have visited many different war museums. This one is in a league of its own. There has been an amazing amount of sympathetic restoration work to many trucks and tanks that I've never seen before. Some are... More

I visit military museums regularly and this one is something special. Allow at least half a day as the collection is very extensive. Over 200 vehicles and tanks on display, mainly allied with an astonishing collection of US trucks. Some rare items e.g A30 Challenger tank, Canadian Otter and Valentine bridgelayer recently refurbished.. Parking outside is free and access for... More

Not a fun day out, but teaching my 13 year old about what was war like for his ancestors in the Netherlands, this was the place to visit. Impressive stuff, but also the "fun" military stuf..............

This museum has two distinct elements - both well worth seeing. As you go through the entrance and on the left is a very comprehensive history of the Netherlands through WW2. All very interesting and it would take you many hours to read it all. Also the layout is a little odd and doesn't necessarily flow as you move between... More

A lot of superbly restored vehicles and some very impressive displays. Allow at least half a day for a visit and don't miss the model shop near the entrance.
