Lots of modern art exhibits and paintings at the time. They get new collections every couple of months in exchange for other ones and the price is really affordable and also cheaper for students. It has lockers where you can leave your stuff and you get your money back when you are done, so you don't have to carry everything...

I would strongly recommend the Van Abbe Museum. Our trip in April 2011 was very nice. The museum is a good size for a visit of a few hours. The staff were very nice, informed, and friendly. There is a cafe for lunch, but we did not eat at the museum. There were free lockers provided to store your possessions.
