This place is great once you know where you are looking for. Try to do this with a guide or with a good book about Breda. They can tell you so much about this place and its great stories! Definitely a reccommendation for a sunny day, otherwise bring your umbrella!

You have to visit this architectual and botanical marvel. I fell in love with this place. So tranquil and beautiful even in rain.

Such a lovely place for a rest while touring. Quite, peaceful, if you love plants and herbs you will not want to miss the gardens here. And make sure you don't miss the statue of the nuns tucked away in the corner. They say it is lifesize so these nuns were very small!

I moved to Breda, a historic city in the south of The Netherlands in my early twenties to start my study. I really enjoy walking around the city center, but this one place stole my heart, the Begijnhof (Beguinage). The Beguinage in Breda are 29 houses and a churches surrounded by a wall. The little houses are built around 2... More

The Begijnhof is a nice relic from an era in which welfare was done in totally other forms. One of the examples is the Breda begijnhof with its own history and memories, lovingly kept in shape today with a nice little museum and a peaceful surrounding in the middle of the city centry.

Small Begijn's house, decorated to function as a museum. Entrance just 1 EUR. Intriguing. Gives a nice idea of what it must have been like to live there.
