The Grote of Onze Leieve Vrouwekerk in one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The chathedral is bigger than it looks in the pictures and has many details which will interest every art lover's eye. Moreover, in every half an hour there is played a beautiful song and it's a free entrance. Inside the Cathedral, people can... More

I've been so lucky to visit this beautiful church on "Open BREDA" event, when everything in town was free and open for everybody to visit. This amazing church is a must see in Breda, it's full of history and great short stories that, even after a long time, they appear to be real. it's mandatory to request a guide tour,... More

Finally visited this beautiful church after being in Breda for several times. The church is a very nice visit worth. Entrance is free. Unfortunately you can only climb to the top on thursday an saturday, i believe both after 13:00 and on some sundays in the summer months. I'll come back to do that one day.

The Grote Kerk (Large Church) or Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk (Church of Our Lady) is in the centre of the old part of town. The church was originally a Catholic church turned Protestant in the 17th century, like so many churches in The Netherlands. The outside is impressive with a tall tower that can be seen from afar. The interior like all Protestant... More

The church has not only a great architecture, but it embeds so much history... every step you make inside the church is a journey in time, to unknown moments of glory, or sadness, or dispare.

I visited this church several times, last time during Cultural Night in Breda with beautifull performances and light shows, climbing the steps and watching the few over the city, the church bells during the day times are like music

One of the most beautiful gothic churches in The Netherlands. From the tower you have a very nice view over the city.

Living in the neighbourhood of this church since my early youth I never really took a look at this church. In the meantime I really admire this Gothic church with its rich history and very nice tower. Just splendid in nice surroundings.

The first thing I did in Breda, rent a classic bike at the train station and start cycling throughout the streets of the city in a beautiful and sunny day. I ended up in the historic center, after left the bike somewhere I ventured strolling around, impossible to miss it, this beautiful Gothic church with its height above the city,... More

Breda is the city wherefrom William of Orange spearheaded the resistance against Spanish rule in the late 16th century, setting off a century of religious turmoil in the Low Countries. This is a beautiful church in the best Brabant catholic tradition. It remained a catholic church until well into the 17th century, when it became protestant, a status later promptly... More
