Me, and my friends have an above average interest in fortifications and are travelling around the world quite regularly. The fortress itself was interesting enough and the history as well. The thing that singled this particular guided fortress tour out, was the very inspiring guide Justyna. She was one of the best we have encountered. She had humour, at the... More

Went on a tour of the Fort and it went on too long for what was not much to see or learn about. Enthusiastic guides try to make a lot out of the small amount there - too little for a 1 hour tour. The view at the top is not particularly good.

Amazing place where you can really feel the spirit of old times. If you lucky to have a nice guide he will explain you how the soldiers treated armors and canons. From the top of the Fort you have a fabulous view over the whole Maastricht. The tour is not long so u don't get tired climbing the Fort back... More

The fort is beautiful and is set up a hill with wonderful views of the city, however, there was (in Nov 2015) one guide a day, which left at 12.30pm, if you miss this, you cannot get into the caves or fort, I was a bit disappointed as I was only around for the day, so now I will need... More

The Netherlands know many forts and fortified towns. Most of them look similar. Fort St.-Pieter has casemates similar to the other forts, but unlike most others it offers very nice views over the environment, and it can boast an interesting history of fights against the French.

This fort was a nice visit. The guide took our group through the entire fort, from sublevel to the roof. He provided a very in depth history of the fort, as well as pointing out the various functions of the forts many defensive aspects. I would recommend this as a stop if you are ever in Maastricht.

A tour is mandatory and a joint ticket can be bought also for the caves. The guide was very informative and you get a great view of the city from the top.

An interesting place to visit. Although you can walk around the outside of the fort for free, I would recommend you don't be a tight-wad and stump up the cash for a guided tour inside the fort. You'll get a very good account of the history of the fort and the Saint Peter's Mount in general. The views from the... More

We took the guided tour of the fort. It is quite interesting to learn how things have changed over the years and why the fort was built in the first place. I liked both the inside and outside tours. With the guide, you get to go to the very top of the fort. Note, there are stairs and uneven walking,... More
