It is one of the old museum of this kind in our country, still good to see the effects of this founding fathers (and women!) as one layer in this. And yes: new people/ youth is attracted by new ideas to attract. But happily it is in their combination were this place exites: It gives interested youth the opportunity to... More

This museum is a bit hidden but well worth a visit. Top pieces are Mosasaurus Ber and the skeleton of a giant turtle. A nice museum!

A cool little museum with lot's of interesting artefacts and exhibits but for a city which is so international I expected the museum to be at least bilingual. All the info was in dutch and there was only one little handout that you could get from the main desk which had the english info on it. If I was visiting... More

This is a well laid out museum in the centre of Maastricht with plenty of exhibits. The museum also has a temporary exhibition space, auditorium, cafe, small shop and a lovely garden with beehives.

We used our Museumkaart to visit this museum as we'd been to the North Caves and were told the bones of a Mosasaurus found in the caves were on display there. We were given a booklet in English and were able to navigate our way around the museum well. The displays were of a wide variety of items so if... More

So this is a tiny museum located in one of the many historical buildings of Maastricht. The doors of the entrance portal are quite impressive. The permanent exhibition looks and feels like it's straight from the early 90's, but is entertaining nonetheless. I loved the birdcall panel and the live beehive they keep there. Since I speak Dutch I could... More

A nice little museum BUT for an international town there was virtually NO help for anyone who does not read Dutch. The reception had ONE loan-out printout giving brief details in English, but none of the exhibits had any translation into English, French or Spanish, let alone anything more exotic.

There is much about this small museum to like. Local (48) bird calls to hear, many local animal species presented. Of course, the Mososaurus. It takes about an hour and was well worth the visit. Even my teenagers liked it!

Lovely little museum in a charming part of town. Museum is an excellent visit for families and makes a slight change to other attractions Maastricht has to offer. Our son thoroughly enjoyed it, it's all in Dutch but they provide an English booklet for the visit. Wonderful service at the desk and a nice way to spend an afternoon with... More
