We visited Maastricht last weekend and had a tour of the caves. Our guide, Anton, was fantastic. He has a true passion for his subject and his knowledge of the caves, and of other caves in the area is impressive. One feels a connection with all those who worked in and visited the caves through the ages as you move... More

We got to Maastricht and it was about to rain. We basically ran to the caves for the last english speaking tour and were hoping we did not make a mistake. The Grotten Nord was absolutely worth it. 90 ft below the city the rain didnt matter. You walk through awesome limestone tunnels and learn about the tunnels its mining... More

This is a very interesting tour, you walk from the tour meeting place to the cave entrance, takes about 10 min. Then you walk into the caves and wow, what and extensive labryinth of underground tunnels. They date back quite far when sandstone was quarried from the hills for the building of the Roman settlement. You can see the distince... More

The caves were the highlight of our trip - they are SO interesting! Our guide was very funny. Great price. Easy walk to St. Pietersberg hill even though it's a little outside of the city's center.

We took the 2 hour tour of the caves. It was nice and cool down 40metres after waiting in Sun of 30c up at the top. We were told the temperature in the caves is 12c which might be cold for some people but while you are active it is generally fine but you can feel it when you take... More

Really interesting tour underground with lots of interesting info provided by the guide. Nice little side trip and fun to do something different after all the churches/museums you see on city trips. Highly recommend - North Caves (and fort) were a pleasant 15 minute walk from the city centre.

We hired bikes by the station and cycled here. We took the 2.00 English tour of the North caves/mines with Joe and really enjoyed it and found it very interesting. However I was a little disappointed that we did not see the evacuation areas that people sheltered in during the war but this seems to be part of the Zonneburg... More

We got the Rederij Stiphout boat and cave tour. About 3 hours in total. 2 hours is spent on caves between waiting for the next tour and the actual tour. Our guide for the caves was both knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend the trip to anyone visiting Maastricht. The only downside is the length of time in the caves only... More
