Beautiful location overlooking the Maas river sets the mood for a museum tour. It offers insight in to the local heritage and from time to time displays work from a grand master but that is seldom and needs to be more often. The gift shop is good. The cooffe shop restaurant is very good and very convenient.

I'm not a big fan of art, but this museum is definitely worth visiting! It looks small from the outside, but after getting inside you can't stop finding new corners. Moreover, everybody can find something for himself, because collections are from Middle Ages up to the present day (I really liked modern art) Not only the collections are a good... More

There was a special exhibit that I wanted to see which was definitely worth it, however, I was rather disappointed in some of the permanent art in display. Maybe other people might like it but I will not go back unless there is a special exhibit that would interest me.

The ultimate for me was the inside structure and design of the museum tower. The architecture, color and geometry was amazing. Now, if you are going to the museum for the Ceramix exhibit - it is quite modern. Ceramics as art, not as functional items. The older paintings are quite nice to see, but a bit hidden amongst the modernity.... More

As a landmark of the city the Bonnefanten doesn't just look good on the outside. The permenent and changing displays are engaging and vibrant and reflective of its location. Currently host to the Ceramix exhibition chronicling the beginings of ceramics as art, there are pieces from Rodin, Matisse and Al Weiwei.

I found this museum a bit disappointing, after hearing other people being enthusiastic about it. I found the old paintings nice. But most of the modern art did not appeal to me. This could partly be due to me coming in in the last hour before closing, so maybe I should have spent more time per artwork to appreciate it.... More

We visited the Ceramix exhibition that was really wow. Take at least three hours or come back again. Work of top ceramists, from US, Europe, Japan and more, can be admired. Fine museum, time and again. However, as in most museums the map was horrible, not indicating the entrance as a reference point. Designers, yes, but no empathy for the... More

The Bonnefanten Museum is a sort of a 'hit and miss' place. The building itself and the part about architect Aldo Rossi is magnificent. Parts of the collection are worth your visit. But then there is the bad and the ugly. 'Modern art' might be an acquired taste, but the bunches of rubble piled up with a tag explaining what... More

I went with my girlfriend to kill some time in an afternoon, and found enough to capture our attention for a few hours. Would recommend.
