Peaceful and quiet in the middle of Groningen City

Nice quiet walled formal gardens, beautiful year round, nice palace garden atmosphere, there's a good bar and restaurant at the Prinsenhof Hotel located right at the Garden!

Its a nice garden but not very big and not really special, Nothing compared to the big botanical gardens in some big city's. In the season of roses it can be very nice but I think you need nice weather to be able to really enjoy this garden and when the roses don't blossom I would not really recommend it.... More

This is one of the places you will visit when doing the Groningen City walk which is highly recommended. Although the gardens are nice, these are much more enjoyable in spring and summer.

A perfect place after a tour around Groningen. Always when I have guests from outside Groningen I will take them on a tour around the little "hofjes" and of course the other beautiful spots from town, to end in the green and peaceful garden for a tea. In spring there are the blossems and end of summer the fruit trees... More

Groningen is great place to take parents round, markets, boat trips and this garden was there favorite, great to have a cup of tea among the flowers with a bit of cake.

The prettiest garden in Groningen. While not so big it's nice to walk around and look at all the plants and flowers. It's a pretty quiet place, also a nice spot for wedding pictures!

The gardens are not far away from the city center, the opening hours are: 9:00-18:00 (summer), 9:00-16:30 (winter). Best to visit in spring or summer when it's colorful

Even though I've lived in Groningen on and of for over 10 years now I never did manage to visit these gardens. So when one of my friends came over from the UK came to visit me I thought it would be the perfect opportunity. And it was. We both really enjoyed the visit to this gorgeous garden. It's a... More

You will not see many flower when you come in the winter or before spring. All was dry and brown. It is a place where you can enjoy the silence very well.
