A very interesting tip for a rainy day or when it is cold, it's fantastic to see all kind of national things and it is extremely nice to hang around for a couple of hours.

This museum displays historic items from Roman times onward. Especially the Batavian riders' masks (or should I say face helmets?) are intriguing. The modern art is also interesting, with people seeming to walk out of paintings (I think those are Magrittes) and with many texture-paintings. Photographs tend to be boring, but here are some nice exemplars where quite some attention... More

This museum is next to the Nicokaaskapel and Maartenskapel. It has a wide selection of art and relics associated with the area, especially a lot of Roman-era finds. I really liked the full-face Roman helmets, and the Celtic mirrors (I have added a pic) that look Art Nouveau. The museum also has rooms devoted to the important Peace of Nijmegen,... More

The museum is located on the border of the river Waal in Nijmegen, and houses the entire Roman collection of the former Museum Kam in Nijmegen, the oldest town in the Netherlands. Children can experience the techniques the Romans used hands on: it will keep them busy for at least one, probably two hours. Nice café. After the museum a... More

Confusing layout of random artifacts and art ranging in time period. Nothing is explained in English so we never quite knew what we were looking at. A few random videos were in English. Overall a confusing waste of money. Nice modern building with cool stuff, just wasn't able to enjoy it or understand anything given no English anywhere.

It is worth spending a few hours in this bright, modern and well-planned museum on the edge of the park where one of the country's mightiest castles once stood. The Rhine was the northern frontier of the Roman Empire so what is now Nijmegen was a Roman border fortress and the museum allows a look back to those times with... More

This museum really highlights the historical hotspot that Njimegen is. The collection of Roman artifacts found here are every well displayed and really show proof of the city's history.

Super displays of prehistoric, Roman, and more recent artifacts. Limited English displays, but get the English guide and you'll be fine.
