Super displays of prehistoric, Roman, and more recent artifacts. Limited English displays, but get the English guide and you'll be fine.

Very impressive, light, interior to this modern building. Its location perched high up gives a delightful view out, through huge picture windows, to a park beyond, & to the bridge over the Waal River, below. The contents of the museum are extremely varied, which is both a plus and a minus. For English speakers, the interesting WWII exhibit is almost... More

The building is easy to navigate as you follow the history of Nijmegen. Windows overlook the city and as you look around, you can capture the feeling of this charming city and it's rich history. Relics from ancient times, art work, china and pottery. There are also special, temporary exhibits.

Interesting museum, centrally located in the shopping area of Nijmegen. Therefore easy to visit while visiting Nijmegen. You can park your car next door in an underground garage. It offers a mix of local (Roman) history and modern art. The museum is of modern architecture.

I went to this museum during my weekend-wandering. It is a very nice one. The collections range from archaeological stuffs even to modern art. It can cover a broad interest from the visitors. For sure, a lot of knowledge about history can be found here. The interior of the museum is great! It is very comfortable to enjoy the whole... More

Takes you far back in history, which is great. There was also a large ceramic pottery collection, which was beautiful. On the negative side: A school class was there at the same time as us (which is totally fine of course), but they were laying all over the floors (they had an assignment to do, so some of them just... After paying the nine euro admission I noticed a couple of people standing on the main stairs wearing black, futzing behind music stands. FREE CONCERT!! So after shuffling through the museum/gallery which was very good and set in an exquisite building, I heard some noises from the stairs. Next thing you know, six or seven or eight people climbed up... More

It was unfortunate that many of the Roman artifacts displayed had no English translation. This was sad, because this Nijmegen museum had an extensive Roman artifact collection which could rival the major museums in the world- the Louvre or the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Perhaps, they don't have the really grand artifacts like the major museums, but enough to have a... More
