We stopped to view the park on our way to the Velo Museum. When we entered the chapel a woman who worked there offered to describe the building and its history for us in English. What a gift to us. The music playing and the light inside through the beautiful windows all added to the amazing time we spent in... More

very old medieval building in park with nice view over te river waal. Is nice but not top. Entrance is free but it is not always open. It is near the centre of the city so just check if its open. you can visit it for about 15 min.

As far as history recalls, this natural ice-age murene has been used as a strategic viewpoint. Different remnants of earlier building are still on site, the restored St-Nicolaas-chapel above all, which is a visitors-centre nowadays and the remnants of the Barbarossa -chapel. This small hill-like park harbours also some WO II german bunkers, of which one is currently in focus... More

This is simply a small park in the town centre with excelledn views of the River. It's certainly not worth planning a trip around the park, but definitely work half an hour or 45 minutes of your time.

Very nice, small park with old ruins. In summertime, at four days of the biggest event in Holland, called 4Daagse (4Days), in this park You can found stages, tents and houndreds of people that they want party and celebrate biggest march probably in Europe.

Valkhof is a short walk from the town centre and provides a beautiful view of river waal. There are people there walking their dog. Do visit Valkhof museum which is at the corner of the park. However shame about the lack of English translation at the museum though all the staff spoke very good English and always there to help.
