Very suggestive place! It takes you back to nature, and the Middle Ages ;) Many events are placed here in Nijmegen, not by chance!

A small little park with an impressive ruin standing in the middle of it. There is some benches overlooking the riverside of the city. A nice place for a little rest on your explorations of Nijmegen, only about 5 minutes away from the town centre.

There are a number of Parks in Nijmegen but Valkhof is one of the most stunning. If you visit Nijmegen its definitely worth it to visit this area of Nijmegen. As you climb up the rings of the park you end up at a little tower with a beautiful view of the Waal and the famous bridge that runs across... More

Important historic site. Goes way back to the Roman Empire about 2000 years ago. The view over the river and partly over city is beautiful. Just being in the middle of the city it amazes me how quiet this small park can be. Lots of trees are protecting from heavy sunshine. A "cool" place to visit.

When you are in Nijmegen and you do not have much time make this one location your must-see place. It is packed with history with remains pointing as far back as to Roman times. The ancient chapel originates from Charlemagne's castle on the hilltop and is already over one thousand years old now.

This park is situated in the oldest town of the Netherlands. It's a small but cosy park. During April till November there are lots of activities that you can do here (classic music concerts, kingsday, houseparties but you can also lay down or have a nice walk in the park 24/7. Also accessible for disabled people. I have to notice... More

Sunny May days, great views of the bridge, people laying in the sun on the grass, cool castle remains, nice place to lounge about. Less duck poop than the other park!

A beautiful park that overlooks the river Waal. Love to wander around or to sit for a while. St. Nicholas chapel (built around 1030) and the remains of St. Martin's chapel can be found there. On market days, you can stroll through the nearby market, where there are all sorts of delightful things.....fresh fruits and vegetables, wonderful cheeses.

A lovely park with many different viewing points and benches. Luckily the weather was kind during my visit which made the setting even more fabulous. Well worth the visit for a quiet walk.
