It's like Bokrijk in Belgium but then for the Netherlands! Lots of wind mills and a very impressive paper 'factory' where you can see how paper used to be made. Very nice, although not cheap to get in, 16 EUR for 2 people and 6 EUR for parking alone is expensive, but you can stay there for hours

This is a large museum on the edge of Arnhem, but reachable by city bus #3. It contains numerous buildings from around the Netherlands. Besides the predictable old farmhouses, it had surprises, like refugee housing for those who fled Indonesia in the early 1950s, an Amsterdam slum building, a small health clinic where poor folks could take a bath (a... Fascinating collection of old buildings well presented and the explanations from the stewards in some of the buildings where they can be seen making paper in a watermill to demonstrating printing on old machines. I congratulate them on their English and their enthusiasm for what they are doing. Some animals in the farm and the windmills work too! We didn't... More

Kids wanted these small dutch pancakes. We waited more than half am hour for a plate of pancakes. Waste of time.... also too many shops here. I expectee to see an old style shops and bakery. But they are just shops as you see in any city.

You step into a Netherlands of the past. Buildings have been relocated form all over the Netherlands to this site. A tram service goes around the whole site and you just hop on and off at the tram stops. As you go around this site you develop a feel for the way that the Netherlands have developed. The earliest agricultural... More

Very well laid out with plenty to see and so. My Father particularly enjoyed the Tram Ride as it he has limited mobility and it enabled to see a lot more than would have been otherwise possible.

This place has an array of display of the Old Dutch way of life and a piece of its history. I love the fact that they have several restos here, bakeries, a souvenir shop and a well kept toilet. I love the ginger chiffon bread you could grab from the grocery near the bridge and pancake house. This place has... More

Beautifully considered. Something for everyone to do. Great cafe's/restaurants and despite the pouring rain we still enjoyed the day. Also, one of the few things open on a Monday.

Spent an afternoon here this month. Great place to visit and lots to see and do for all ages. It was a lovely day out and saw us much as we could in the time. The tram does a circuit of the park and is a good way to get your bearings before starting to look at individual sections/buildings. Plenty... More

This wonderful, outdoor experience can be enjoyed by people of all ages and varying mobility. There is a super tram system that can transport you around the extensive site, so you can hop off the tram and explore the buildings in one area, then hop back on a tram to travel to another area. There are enormous windmills and complete farmhouses,... More
