This is a beautiful palace! It's definitely worth the visit if you are staying in the Netherlands for a while. The Garden is a pleasure to stroll around in during the summer time. It's not very far from Apeldoorn station, maybe a 15/20 minute bus ride. When I visited, there were two beautiful peacocks roaming around outside the palace, near... More

A beautifully restored royal place, the gardens are nothing short of stunning. The commentary on the hand held guide is remarkable, informative and really well put together. Our English version even had domestic staff speaking with "Lancashire" accents. The restaurant served excellent food and in itself was a treat, formal afternoon tea setting was beautiful.

At least once a year we visit this palace, especially for the garden. The palace self is a museum though sometimes they use it for reception of special guests. In January there is not so much growing in the garden. It's better visit this palace in the summer and you will see more plants

This palace is wonderful and it has a beautiful garden. 100% free if you have a holland museum card (highly recommend this). In addition you can see the special exhibit for an additional 3 euros. The garden area to me was very peaceful and was better than the palace as I have seen many palaces in my past

I came to Apeldoorn especially to visit this palace. It turns out that the visit was really nice. The palace has a very beautiful garden and a park. The garden, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. From the garden, one can go to the park. The latest time to go to the... More

We made the mistake of taking our little dog, who was not allowed in the gardens, or the grounds surrounding the Palace which meant that we could not stay for as long as would have liked. We went to the Palace especially to see the Sisi exhibition (which was marvellous, by the way) but this Palace really needs at least... More

On a weeklong trip to the Netherlands, we spent the better part of a day touring this beautiful palace. Set on acres of parkland and lovely formal gardens, we found ourselves transported to a wonderland of beautiful home/palace furnishings inside. We usually rent audio guides and we did so here. The descriptions were thorough and educational without being overwhelming or... More

The exhibition has not much to offer. No new information for those who love Sissi. Much ado about nothing.

the gardens both the formal and informal round the lake are outstanding. Quite a lot of walking if you want to see it all but mostly level ground and good paths. The palace itself was disappointing, very dark and not well organised. Not a patch on the way a National Trust property is presented in the UK. But the trip... More
