This is a beautiful palace. I really enjoyed learning about the Netherlands' royal history. There is a lot to see and the grounds are gorgeous!

Kids iceskating, fireplace to sit around drinking glühwein or hot chocolate watching kids playing. With the royal stables on the background and live pianomusic. I find it really special and a perfect christmas holiday activity with family and friends. Maybe visit the palace or take a walk in the beautiful palaceparc.

Paleis het Loo gave me a great impression on the royal history of Holland. Nice museum and gardens with a cute giftshop. Special was the winter fair that had several stands with giftproducts. Very nice christmas ornaments as well. Also, there was a wild bird exhibition.

Very busy and crowded but still worth visiting. The information boards are very well written and available in English. The gardens are just beautiful even when it's not the season. The most I liked the grotto.

We came here on a rainy day and enjoyed ourselves. Entering through the ticket office, the first area to visit is the stables. No horses in evidence at this point, but an impressive number of stalls. The hall where many of the carriages and sleighs were displayed was very interesting and impressive. Nice way to live! From there there is... More

You can reach this lodge from the train station by #10 bus. I found this building complex interesting in comparison with the much more excessive Versailles, Frederiksborg, and Kungliga slott. Paleis het Loo lacks the Baroque majesty of these other buildings even though it was occupied by stadtholders, an English king and queen, and then Dutch royals. Much of its... More

The palace is something I will never expect finding in The Netherlands, it really is different from all the traditional architecture, it has some french style influence. And the history behind is really interesting. Totally recommend it. If you are going by public transportation it might be little confusing when arriving as the entrance to the palace and the place... This piece of Dutch history has remained intact for quite a while, it wasnt too long ago that the Royals actually lived here themselves. I loved to see some of my country's heritage including their rides. (Cars and carriages) We went to visit the palace on a Saturday (off-season), not too crowded (noon-3PM) You have to cover a lot of... More
