This museum, not being to large, give you a fine peep into the social history of the 'watery' aspects of the town you are visiting - there's not too much that is, or was, not related to the water in this country; everyday life till everyday sports, earning till spending. One may need a bit of guiding, as so many... More

This museum looks small on the outside, but is huge on the inside. The ship models are mind-blowing, and the way the history of the area is woven into everything is smart, fun, and will hold your attention.

This museum is interesting and can be seen in a couple of hours. It contains a good cross section of the history and life in the area, but it is all in Dutch which makes it difficult to understand all that is being conveyed of you don't understand the language. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it.

Love to see the history of the area all from a water point of view. THis museum covers many aspects of life in Frysan, not just boats but skating, lifestyle and the day to day items important to these people.

I thought the exhibits were very interesting. I especially liked when I learned about the different ways in which people from Friesland... More

Great, renovated museum. It takes at least half a day to see and find out. Also the history of the way of living of Frisian people can be seen.

Very worthwhile museum with much more than just the history of ships and boats. It includes some of the history of Sneek, paintings, souvenirs that sailors brought back, and period rooms of how people in Sneek lived in the 19th century.

There is a lot of history in Friesland. This museum offers a great view of the history of Sneek and the shipping in the old days.
