Zurich's Tonhalle, situated close to the lake, hosts many great classical soloists and orchestras. It's a great place to listen to music, with exceptional acoustic and a nice atmosphere.

Regarding acustics (and program) one of the leading concert halls of Europe. Great performances with renowned solist or young talents, the latter often at affordable prices. It does not matter if you chose a cheaper ticket, if you're interested in listening only, the sound carries beautifully in every corner.

A truly wonderful concert by the renowned recorder player Dorothee Oberlinger and Dmitriy Sinkovsky with the Ensemble 1700. Terrific music. Unfortunately, the audience, which was very good at not clapping at the wrong moments, was atrocious at COUGHING between every piece, movement, etc! Disgraceful! I would rather have had some uneducated souls clap in the wrong place than that cacophony... More

Zurich is a fun and culturally very interesting place. If you happen to go for a concert at Tonhalle, be there early. The panorama over the Lake is worth a stroll along the boardwalk. Once you get into the building you better opt for great music, because the building itself, infrastructure (such as light) and seating is not really world... More

I just saw a review which said that the acoustics were poor. Jeez, no! I played myself there in a concert in an orchestra and it has to be said that it's one of the halls with the most awesome acoustics.

This is Zurich Tradition, Zurich always attracted excellent artists even tough it is a very small city - a mere 370'000 inhabitants not including the agglomeration. David Zinman has brought the Tonhalle once again to top internationals standards and nowadays with the hassle Switzerland and especially our baks have to go trough wit he US Revenue System he remains perhaps... I can't say I liked it. The orchestra was not great, and the accoustics were poor. I got the student seats, which means that I was literally sitting outside of the room where the orchestra was playing, and I left two thirds in.

This is a classical concert hall which shows some signs of age. Ensure you factor in enough time to get there if you have never visited the Tonhalle before. Nerest tram stop is 'Stockerstrasse', then walk toward the Hyatt Hotel in the direction of the lake, a few hundert meters furhter on the left you will find the entrace (not... More

Although it is extremely difficult to get the ticket, once you get one you will have great opportunity of listening to world top musicians' performances. The building is old and less modern and definitely needs renovation (e.g. compared to the concert hall in Luzern) but the concerts on the programme performed by the world famous musicians is so overwhelming that...
