A great collection of prehistoric and present-day stuffed animals. Lots of hands-on exhibits too, so my young son was well entertained. Best thing is that this place is free, which is so unheard of in Switzerland. Highly recommended to bring a child.

Ok, I live in Zurich :) however this place is a must to see, free of charge and one hell of an attraction! You can dive all the way into the micro cosmos via high powered microscopes or wander through the ages looking at the fossils or compare your mass against the real sized animals. We visit particularly this museum... More

There wasn't a whole lot in english but that was fine. It was bigger than I thought it would be. The best part for me was the anxiety exhibit that I didn't know was there. Would be great for kids or even a rainy afternoon. It was easy to find and free!

If you like stuffed animals, this is the museum for you! It's free from the university, so I can't understand how it can be rated badly, except maybe by someone who didn't realize that it has exhibitions of dead, stuffed animals. When your expectations are appropriate and you don't have to pay anything, I think this is a great place... More

Perfect for an afterhour after a night of dancing, and when you're done visit the canteen of the University to grab some food, enjoy the view from the Polyterasse and head home, relaxed. Museum may be not the biggest but competent and friendly employees and there's always something you're allowed to touch

The museum is for free and has a very good collection. I spent there an hour. Go there especially if you have children.

It's free, it's indoors, it's animals - stuffed. There's enough to keep people occupied for an hour or two you could even combine it with the geological museum not far from here

What a great collection of wildlife from all over the world and beautifully displayed. Very interactive for those with active little ones: microscopes, listening devices, films and play area. An excellent display of fossil findings and creatures from the past. Just a little hike up from the city centre.

Took my 8 and 10 year old there for a few hours. There are lots of stuffed animals to look at, earphones to listen to, and microscopes to peer through. Plus the fossil collection too. Well worth a visit!
