Have been twice now and have seen all of the animals each time. Red panda and snow leopards are the best. Beautiful place, very well designed and quite reasonable price considering it is Zurich! Highly recommend

I took the children here on our first day in Zurich - buying a joint tram / zoo entry ticket from our local tram station (Bellevue) - and then travelling there easily up the hill via two trams (5 and 6)).
We arrived early as the zoo opened and on a weekday in April found the zoo very quiet. There's...

Free and ideal for children. Small museum with a lot of stuffed animals. Not very interesting for adults only.
Makes a great young children's outing: ride the Polybahn up to ETH, see the view & then walk 5 minutes to the free Zoological Museum. The museum itself has all sorts of exhibits from stuffed polar bears to a giant Sloth model, dinosaur bones to giant elk skeletons. Great was to introduce kids to animals on rainy days because it...

Ehibits very nicely presented, well behaved visitors in contrast to the Zurich Zoo , where toddlers and young parents chaos prevails. Honest exhibitions which are accompanied with placards which clearly indicate rarety and endangerdness of anymal presented. Staff nice and always ready to answer questions and give directions
It's an obligation to visit the ZH zoo if you are coming to Zürich!
Big zoo, with a lot of animals, in constant renovation. Lots of little "kiosk" where to buy something to eat. A nice area where to pic nic.
Careful with a pram: some "short cut" through a place to an other are not accessible with a pram...

I love natural history and having this museum for free in Zurich presents an opportunity to visit time and time again. recommended to all ages for a 1-2 hour break.
Excellent place to visit with kids during a rainy day. We've been there many times and there's always something new to discover and plenty of interactions. Additionally, the museum has a little cinema where short films about animals are shown. Most importantly and rarely encountered in Zurich: No entrance fee, visit is for free.
This is one of the places where we go again and again. It's for free and it's great for kids.
I have been going to this museum for years with the children that I teach. I always enjoy it as much as the children do.
