The place where the parliaments of Zurich town (city parliament) and Zurich Kanton (canton) meet. On Monday it is the representatives of the canton, on Wednesday the local city parliament. And you can stroll in and visit the session from the balcony on the top floor, once you passed the security at the entrance. Worth a visit during sessions.

Its nice to see an old building still in its original use...If you ask nicely , they will show around with pleasure if no business is taking place. It is also based in a particularly nice area of the old town.

The Townhall is located on the right-side of the Limmat. This house hosts the cantonal parliament and the Zurich city Parliament. Open sessions of the Parliament are held on Monday and Wednesday. On the entrance level, there is a bust of Rudolf Brun, the first mayor of Zurich. A very nice gentleman allowed me access to view one of the... More

Stayed only 2 days but we are lucky to see a lot and this is one of those , Rathaus was part of the medieval town that was located on the Limmat’s right side. It was the government seat until 1789. Since the early part of the 19th century it had housed both the city’s municipal government and the cantonal... More

I don't believe there is anythnig special about the Rathaus. I'd much rather you spent time at the churches and the old town.
