Take the short round trip, it is good enough. The view is amazing. I should have brought a sandwich out to eat on the boat. I do recommend getting the day pass for transport in Zurich, then paying a small fee for the boat ride.

We had a fabulous stay in Zurich over new year's and the first couple of weeks of January. Unfortunately there was no snow, but it was still beautiful and an easy city to explore by foot. Also a fantastic base for day trip around Switzerland using the train network.

Lake Zurich can be a nice place to unwind. It can be very beautiful when the conditions are right and you see the snow capped alps in the background. They water is clean enough for swimming and there are several spots available for this. There are restaurant and ventors scattered around the lake. On a beautiful summer's day the lakeside... More

Lake Zurich is one of the bigger lakes around. The waters are crystal clear and torquoise. Obviously summer offers more things to do in and around the lake. Take a boat ride on the public transport boats which cover the various little villages dotted around the lake. Stop by at Rapperswil and eat lunch at Swanen and you will not... More

Very nice to visit in summer or spring, you can rent a pedal boat there and enjoy sun! Also bring some bread to feed the animals from there

Lake Zurich offers unique views. Within a 5 minutes walking distance you will find a large lake of about 42 km length and 2 to 5 km wide. Passenger boats are operatin on the lake connecting the Bahnhofstrasse with man of the pictural villages and places along the coast. In winter most of these ships are not available. But just... Tranquil lake close to bustling Zurich. Most of the shoreline ist built up with private residences, but a trip from Zurich to atmospheric Rapperswil with its castle (90 mins one-way) is nice. Well worth a visit: Ufnau island with small church from early middle ages and an outdoor restaurant in summer,
