It’s compact, tree-filled and has about 2,000 animals from 250 different species. There are tropical rainforests and an enormous biosphere. The zoo is well kept and pleasant to walk around. We didn't get to see many animals as they were sleeping and/or hiding. It's a nice place to spend the afternoon and young children would definately like it, but it wasn't very impressive. The highlight for me was to discover that the best place to view the elephants was from... More

It was nice to walk around and they are in the middle of expanding it - maybe wait a couple of years to visit when there's more to see. Compared to some other zoos, such as San Diego and Philly, there' s a lot of walking with not so much to see.

We went in beginning of January and didn't expect too much to see, but actually there were a lot of animals around both on the outside and in some inside placements. Even saw some of them have never seen live - like a anteater! Its pretty big and lots of routes, so nice to walk around. Easy to get there,... More

For the domestic people probably refreshment after boring Zurich but overall it just an average zoo with not so many animals to see. Don't expect much and if you don't visit it you are not losing much.

I took my kids several times in years past, and it is a great place to explore, both outside and in the rainforest pavilion. Can be hard to find parking, so better to take the Tram 6 up.

This is definitely one of the best zoos in the world. It is definitely worth to go there with children during a sunny Sunday. The zoo contains animals from all over the world.

One of the best zoological gardens of the world. The animals are in a natural setting and some of the specials, such as the penguin parade or the Masoala hall in winter, are not to be missed.
