It’s compact, tree-filled and has about 2,000 animals from 250 different species. There are tropical rainforests and an enormous biosphere. The zoo is interesting, with a nice variety of animals that were well-taken-care of. Our favorites included the primates (gibbons, siamangs, orangutans, and gorillas), snow leopards, tigers, baboons (near the elephants), and seals (who were quite amusing). You could watch the gibbons from the comfort of a recliner, like being in your living room. The new elephant enclosure was set... More

Zoo Zurich, located on one of the beautiful hills around Zurich, is an amazing zoo. The management makes neverending efforts to improve their facilities for their animals. Especially the masoala hall is worth a trip!

we always enjoy visiting the Zürich Zoo - a place with great attractions for smaller as well as bigger kids. And now with the new elephant park it is just amazing! Highly recommend.

The kiosk had a short line. You ordered your food and then went over to the grill to get your sausage. It was a very efficient system. The bratwurst was very good and the price was excellent, at least in comparison to American kiosks.

This zoo is huge and has some very interesting species. All the regulars you'd expect plus a few more unusual ones. We were particularly impressed with the new elephant enclosure complete with many elephant swimming pools. Sadly we didn't get to see an elephant swim. We also thought the tropical area was impressive and very similar to the Eden Project... More

The zoo is well kept and pleasant to walk around. We didn't get to see many animals as they were sleeping and/or hiding. It's a nice place to spend the afternoon and young children would definately like it, but it wasn't very impressive. The highlight for me was to discover that the best place to view the elephants was from... More

This was our second visit in two years and this time was even better.During our first visit there was substantial work being carried out on the entrance area and a new elephant enclosure underway so this time we were able to see the improvements .A new cafe/restaurant area has also been built which offers good food and drinks (a little... It was nice to walk around and they are in the middle of expanding it - maybe wait a couple of years to visit when there's more to see. Compared to some other zoos, such as San Diego and Philly, there' s a lot of walking with not so much to see.

We went in beginning of January and didn't expect too much to see, but actually there were a lot of animals around both on the outside and in some inside placements. Even saw some of them have never seen live - like a anteater! Its pretty big and lots of routes, so nice to walk around. Easy to get there,... More
