This is a must if you have time in Zürich. The numbers of animals has reduced in recent years, but this is a trend in good Zoos. The size of the compounds gets ever greater. Wonderful experience. Do not omit going to the Masaola Hall. Incredible.

My first visit to the Zurich zoo. I visited with my son and his family who live in Switzerland. The recently opened elephant enclosure was lovely for the children. Also the ape/chimpanzee areas where they get up close. Being able to sit on the wall surrounding the rhinoceros and have lunch while watching the animals was great. The pathways are... More

My husband and I took our three year old daughter and nephew to the zoo. It was very enjoyable and the animals apparently well looked after. We would recommend a must visit for any family.

This is the first time I have visited this zoo and I was impressed with some of the animal cages as you are allowed to climb into the cage and feed the animals by hand which is something I have never known if you don't want to feed the animals you can still walk around taking photo's but it would... Over the past years, the zoo became world class, especially the new environments for predators, bears and other species, offering large cages/space. Also the Masoala madagascar hall is magnificent, where you can spend long time indoors, observing varis and other animals in their habitat. Other highlights are bears, tigers, South America steppe and some rarities like poison frogs. In winter,... More

really nice zoo where the animals have good spacious enclosures and are clearly well looked after. the new elephant house is absolutely fantastic - they have created a huge area for them with waterfalls, pools and an interesting area for them to live in. They are probably the happiest zoo elephants in the world! The new Masoala rainforest dome is... More

Switzerland has many beautiful and varied attractions, unfortunately the Zuerich Zoo is not one of them. We visited it with a couple of friends and their 6 year old son, very keen on zoos. Easy entrance, path clear and well defined. Many animals were not visible, without a warning before purchasing the ticket. This includes rhino, tiger and gorilla..quite interesting... More

Nice place to visit, it's well kept and pleasant. I didn't get to see many animals as I expected. It's a nice place to spend the afternoon and kids would definitely love it but for it wasn't very impressive for me. Very easy to get to the zoo from the main station, Zurich HB.

The zoo is interesting, with a nice variety of animals that were well-taken-care of. Our favorites included the primates (gibbons, siamangs, orangutans, and gorillas), snow leopards, tigers, baboons (near the elephants), and seals (who were quite amusing). You could watch the gibbons from the comfort of a recliner, like being in your living room. The new elephant enclosure was set... More

Zoo Zurich, located on one of the beautiful hills around Zurich, is an amazing zoo. The management makes neverending efforts to improve their facilities for their animals. Especially the masoala hall is worth a trip!
