It’s compact, tree-filled and has about 2,000 animals from 250 different species. There are tropical rainforests and an enormous biosphere. The zoo occupies a large territory, so it takes several hours to see all of the animals, but it totally worth it. Most of paths are can be passed by wheelchair, but not all of them (these are marked). Aviaries are big, so it can take some time to find an animal inside. A few bird species just walking through... Great new infrastructure build and completed for the Elephants, also there is a recently born baby elephant to be seen. Super darling. If you can, go see the attached MASUALA tropical garden, almost next door.

We had great fun walking around and seeing the many animals at Zurich Zoo. Although signs seemed to indicate that there should have been a Gorilla, we couldn't seem to find him/her anywhere. Also the snow leopard was hiding the whole time. The hippos, monkeys, lions and bears were spectacular. The tram trip to the zoo was equally enjoyable. There... More

This zoo has a lot to offer, but it can be very confusing to navigate. There are so many paths that you can take, and most of them don't have a sign that tell you where you are going, you are just walking. There are a few parks in the zoo that give kids a chance to play. Some of... More

Very big and interesting Zoo but you need to go early, lots of things happen once a day like the elephant swimming only 10:30 morning.

Good zoo spread over a large area. Easy to get to using tram no 6 from near the main station. Good selection of animals. Well organised with free map so you can find your way around the park. Road train for those with tired or little legs. Lots of refreshment points, toilets etc. Reasonable admission price. Our only complaint was... More

It is a mixture of love and hate with me when it comes to Zoos. I love the animals, but a bitter feeling always remains when I leave, cuz I feel said for them. A for the Zurich Zoo, I certainly didn't waste any time by going, but it was nothing special. I have been to more beautiful ones, but... More

Fabulous setting to view animals in as close as possible to their own enviroment.(huge fan of the Chester Zoo in England) Consider spending a few hours here especially if you have children regardless if they are small or teenagers. There is so much to see! The new elephant area is fabulous and to see the babies swimming in their pool... More

Don't do a rush visit unless you really have no choice. It's a fantastic whole day outing especially if you have children as they want to spend time in the fantastic playgrounds too. Also, if you have children, don't miss the petting zoo but be aware that the animals do have a rest time when you may not go in... More

We walked inside the amazing indoor tropical forest, the Masoala Hall. It is full of different lemurs, bats, chameleons, tortoises, flowers and fruit trees. The restaurants use the fruits and spices in their food and pastries. Pretty cool. There is a new [huge] indoor-outdoor elephant enclosure. Special restaurants there as well. Much to much to see all in one day.
