The Zürich Zoo, situated on a hillside away from downtown, is excellent. It’s compact, tree-filled and has about 2,000 animals from 250 different species. There are tropical rainforests and an enormous biosphere. The fascinating Madagascar pavilion and the elephant house are worth a look. Open daily.

Just visited Zurich Zoo. Lots of walking up and down hill to get to see the animals. It was a warm but not hot day, yet still a lot of the animals were in hiding . Don't get conned by the Masala Express. It stops near the elephants and Masala World 2 francs one way. Ok if you are by... More

Each time I go to the zoo they seem to be improving the animal enclosures. The elephants for example have an amazing brand spanking new elephant house, with lots of room for them to play. And the tigers enclosure seems really good too. They also have lots of volunteers giving info about the animals at various points along the route.... More

This zoo is great for everyone, lots of animals, both exotic and domestic as well as a big rainforest. They are expanding and just recently opened a big area for elephants. Bring cash for ice cream.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon at the Zoo! With the continuous improvements over many years, this has been a very, very good time. I recommend to use the website, to buy the ticket, we easily skipped 1 hr queuing to getting in! There are many spots to refresh and have a break, loved it!

It's been a tradition in our family to go to the Zurich zoo once a year and it's always a nice experience. Not only is the zoo quite big (at least in my opinion) but also there's a very nice "Masoala hall" with tropical temperatures at the very end. Definitely recommendable for a sunny (and not too hot) day

Kids love animals and so do parents, so the zoo is a perfect location to spend a wonderful day. The Zurich zoo offers a few nice compounds to visit, e.g. the elephants or the newly opened mongolian steppe. Of course the monkeys are always worth a visit and so are many others of the 375 different species. After all the... More

The entrance fee is not cheap but you have a lovely time when you stroll through the pretty large Zoo. I highly recommend to visit the Masoala hall which has the plants and the atmosphere of a rainforst in Madagascar. Also the new elephant compound with a large pool is very beautiful to visit, To get there just take the... More

The Zurich zoo is a nice attraction for both adults and kids as it has a lot of animal species and playgrounds in many parts of the park. It's the ideal place to go with your family on a warm day..the surrounding area is also good for sports, with the many tennis and football pitches and, not less important, the... More
