Description: The Zürich Zoo, situated on a hillside away from downtown, is excellent...
The Zürich Zoo, situated on a hillside away from downtown, is excellent. It’s compact, tree-filled and has about 2,000 animals from 250 different species. There are tropical rainforests and an enormous biosphere. The fascinating Madagascar pavilion and the elephant house are worth a look. Open daily.

$26 per person. $10 more than we were used to, for the same type of animals. Cured our boredom. Too many plants

Prepare your self to walk more than see animals. Yes , there is difficulty in the first time in the Zoo and you have to waste your time on the beginning trying to understand where you are? The good thing the shop and the connected restaurant I think if I visit the site again, I will plan better to spend... More

We planned for 3 hours but stayed 6! Our kids (aged 6 and 9) loved this zoo. There are numerous activities for kids including inlets with slides and play areas. These are great for times then you hear, "my feat are tired." Although small in comparison to others in Europe, ie Vienna, it was still eventful for our family. Beware-the... More

We visited on a sunny day in April, pushed a pram, and found that most of the park was easily accessible that way (there are some areas that are a little bumpy, but access is good). Its our second European zoo, previously we had been to zoos in warmer climes (Australia and North America). The cold european winters here mean... More

Cosy little zoo, impressive building made just for the elephants, and also a great an massive hall for the rain forest. Really a must see, it is small but with a huge quality in everything. Lot of construction going on, that's why I give only a 4. But does make me wonder and want to cone and see it again... More

This is the first zoo I have visited in Europe, and I must say I was very impressed! The animals have a lot of room to roam, and the zoo places an emphasis on conservation and sustainability. The newly added elephant exhibit is very nice with plenty of indoor and outside space for the animals. We had a gruyère sandwich... More

Weather was terrible but still nice place. Very many interesting animal species and they seem you have enough space. Don't miss tapir and penguins. Rhino was interesting but the smell was terrible, lot of poo....???? Easy to visit, just take tram number 6.

The zoo is quite big, well organized, you can also have a meal there, buy souvenirs etc. The only thing that bothered me was the construction, which made me find some animals harder and longer than it should.

I decided to spend my afternoon at Zoo Zurich. This zoo allows you to get pretty close to the animals. It is built into a hill, so be prepared for quite a bit of uphill walking and stairs. There are quote a few zoo experts positioned throughout the park to answer questions about the animals and explain things. I had... More

The Zoo was wonderful and really shows the animal enclosures have adapted as close to their natural environment whilst using Eco friendly materials. The elephant enclosure really blown us all away. Lots of activities for the kids on the way. Requires a lot walking.
